Hi Ace: To piggyback on droughtquake and Sweetlion-I think when any of us embark upon a story as a reader, it starts this unique union with the author where we plug into your wavelength (if we're lucky). I have the deepest awe and respect for a writer's muse. That source can vary from the rooter to the tooter. If readers are part of the inspiration, it is an honor but none of us would ever want to dictate direction of the story unless it is in harmony with what the author feels should happen (or the characters, as I know they develop lives of their own 😄). This story is just amazing and totally engrossing, we are with you even with the trials and tribulations they may go through because we know it's an organic part of the journey. We all know the road to HEA needs a few bumps to make it interesting 😉. This was a great chapter, thank you so much for sharing. Oh and yeah, versatility would be cool with the guys, good sex between them is a given; I'd like to think Teddy would be open to it if Ryder lets him know he really wants it.

I think "responsible" is a loose term, even tho they are his custodial parents. The term "Oli fatigue" was perfectly coined in one of the previous comments to explain Mr. and Mrs. Haner's inability to handle Oliver. They had no prior skill set in dealing with a temperment like Oli's; Teddy was the perfect son and was false advertising for baby #2!! 😄 I think the elder Haners, already trusting Teddy and having renewed trust in Ryder, won't object as much to any preemptive moves Teddy and Ryder do with Oliver; It is almost like Oli is theirs.

Ryder made all the difference. He understands Oliver better than Teddy or Mr. & Mrs. Haner. Ryder's presence also allowed the family to deal with and heal from the fractures his leaving caused 13 years before. He revived the family and I think it's no exaggeration to say he saved Oliver's life, with or without Unity.

I'm with you on that-the GA part not the Amazon part. With what we know about data collection and breaches by these companies that make shopping and communication convenient, I'm not surprised anymore with their "suggestions", more annoyed, lol.

I will love to see how the kids in school who thought he was a weird loser will treat him now. Suck drumsticks, former band mates. 😝

Is Oli sexually repressed or is it me? I know sexuality develops at different stages for everyone but 13 going on 14 seems on the late swing of the curiosity spectrum. It is cute watching his exploration blossom, at any rate. I love how fast the song was recorded then shipped to the different labels, it is the show of confidence Oliver needed to see from Ryder in his abilities. It was cute seeing Mrs. Haner scold Ryder and Oli for not sleeping 'cause they were making music, creativity has no timetable, lol. I hope Mark's father is not a homophobe, I'm picking up some weird vibes, there.

Curious about the dynamic between Mason and Jamie. Is it sibling rivalry between them or does Dad favor one over the other? Interesting story.

I agree with you. Jason showed his love for his family by keeping in contact with his parents in spite of that treatment and even trying to understand through the grandchild angle. At the same time, tho, it's like his parents punished him because he did not produce grandchildren. I wonder if the treatment would have been the same if he had?

And the slant of incestuous relationships being key relationships in JD's life is very interesting. First his cousin and now his uncle.

The apology was huge. Jason was basically treated like a second class citizen in his family for 20 years; Only thing was the apology needed to come from Jason's parents and brother, not his innocent nephew. This family had been at the whims of a mentally unbalanced woman for 20 years, enablers much? It seems like Layla and JD won't be enabling her, tho. Very interesting story (and very hot, ☺️).

Kudos to your postscript to this chapter. That is all I feel I can say without being censored by the PTB. 😶 As to the chapter itself: it gladdened and resonated within my Mother heart. I have an almost six year old who still tells on themselves when major transgressions occur, too. I marveled at this when it first happened and then developed a bittersweet feeling with subsequent episodes-touched my young one feels they can tell me when they've done something wrong and sad because I know the older they get, this will happen less and less (tho I remain hopeful it won't). It was sweet to view the machinations of Maria's mind as she awaited her punishment AND still slipped in the bid for a cellphone!! HA!!!! You perfectly captured the mind of a little one. Thanks for giving us a slice of this branch of the Adams family. Please continue to prune their branches as you see fit. I know you take readership into consideration, I hope that does not override your muse. Good chapter, sojourn.

I knew realistically that he wasn't ugly but I cast him as the troll under the bridge due to his dreadful personality. Yeah, he kind of does. I'm with you in wanting him to ignore Dick (well, that dick 😊) but he needs to confront him so that these demons he's been living with (and punishing J.D. with) can be slayed. Whether the conversation between Drake, Dick & Bernadette goes well or not, I think it will allow him to close this chapter and hopefully put it in its proper perspective.

And Richard and Bernadette staring at Drake during the wedding?!?! Them two better come in peace or they'll be leaving in pieces.

Damn!! Another chapter before the Dick confrontation?!?! Good set up, I think Callie smells something fishy but Drake knows he can tell her the truth (just NO WHERE within earshot of Preston). The white blond description of Preston's hair threw off my image of him; From J.D.'s "I thought you'd be taller" statement (which was an AWESOME intro line for that jerk, 😄) and his subsequent "asshatness", I pictured a short, stubby, slightly potbellied troll. 6 days, 23 hours, minutes until the next installment. ⏳

Jeezus!! The emotions this story brings out. What a lovely addition to the family in Cody, he will fit right in. The whole Waters' family capacity for unconditional love defies words. I enjoy sharing their world with every new chapter.
