Marcelo seemed to be panicking even more than I was. He forced me to stop dragging him; people had started to look warily at us. “So that was señor Green eyes? Quite smart, if I say so myself. And what now Ximo? Are you going to transfer to Madrid to escape arrest or what?” Fear seemed to be making him sound almost aggressive. By now I just wanted to get away from talking and wasted speculation. We parted with a vague promise to meet up with other student friends at a more ‘neutral’

In N Ireland during the Troubles of the 70s (and before and after) in job interviews etc., you couldn’t ask whether the person was Catholic or Protestant but simply asking where they went to school would reveal all a bigoted employer, or work colleague, would need to know.

They were v good but only one dry day in eight and we came home to storms and severe weather here in Valencia. Still, I got parts of the next volume written…. Wait for Ximo’s mother to take centre stage 😱 -

I think our beloved author must have had his knife collection sharpened for Xmas. As with Granger chp (for which huge thanks, Mark) we have a lovely feel good chp …. And then dr A gets out the stiletto. Wannabe authors like me stand in awe!

Time will tell @drsawzall and @Summerabbacat... This first volume is completed in 11 sections and will be out twice a week, hopefully. Festive greetings from a very, very wet Pyrenees. -

Here we are having traditional ‘noche buena’ seafood. Spain consumes the highest amount of seafood per capita in Europe. Huge amounts are flown in from Scotland for sale here at up to 300usd a kilo….

The next day was the last Friday before Christmas and the last official day of term in my faculty. I somehow dragged myself out of bed at an early hour, made a coffee and almost staggered on to my miniscule balcony. The traffic was moving along as usual, but I felt anything but normal.
