    Chapter 1

For me this wasn’t fun to read, nor I suspect to write, even years later. It is beautifully written, painful to read, but the past is what we have to let go. “No regrets”, ummmmm The writing is first class. I loved this phrase: “Both guys too smart for their own good, too self-aware to just relax.”
  2. Perfection, pure perfection. Here it was 42°C at midday. We are hiding inside at a mere 30° with hours of air con. not the best day to decide to cook risotto…… So far I’ve used three saucepans and two frying pans and haven’t finished. In three weeks we will be in UK, border controls of the wiener dogs permitting. Not sure if my sister’s lovely cockapoo is ready for the horror that is 001…

    Chapter 10

Gone are the days when I could knock back a bottle of claret during a dinner party. 😭

    UCLA VS USC

So… who is to blame for this week’s cliffhanger? Will poor Sharon get the blame? What will @PrivateTim have to say? Will I ever understand American sports? All our questions will be resolved with the next episode…… or not 🤔
  7. But you wouldn’t be there….. 🤗

    Ground Rules

    I’m eight months behind you!
  9. Hockey played on the correct surface - grass, of course - is an acceptable sport but the greatest on the planet is CRICKET 🏏 sorry to mention sport @Mikiesboy but I had to put @Brayon straight, as it were. Where else in the world could a five day match, six hours per day, end very often in a draw?
  10. Whose was the place where he used to go to study?

    Off the Deep End

The fact that I’ve never heard of it before makes me feel so young! If only x

    Chapter 1

I know about you being candid! Your comments on the SA stories were incisive but not cruel! Get ready for “I know the truth” ……

    Chapter 1

Be merciful, I was in second week of COVID when reading this story! My contribution is still short of 1500 words. Goodness knows when it will be revealed to the world! And dare I let @Thirdly review it 😰. Seriously. @kbois, it was a beautiful story. gary x
  14. BTW, @chris191070, I really loved your story and it got one of my votes. And there was you saying you hadn’t entered….. um 😕
  15. Yep, Laura’s imagination is like no other! I’m binge reading LL and enjoying it v much. 👍

    Chapter 9

I am very much enjoying the habit of finishing the chps with letters. They add a nice perspective. The story sails from strength to strength. 👏
  18. Guess which amazingly loyal fan voted for Thetis…… 😜
  19. Hi you can see the numbers in the link below “vote here” regards
  20. Or hope????? 😈 me too! “She’s got a charity whist night“ uff my mother’s weekly whist night was sacrosanct! Zero tolerance if I played up on that evening 😱
  21. Our trip to UK is 24 hours of driving. I’m the driver, Paco is the “co-piloto”, ie sits in First Class and adjusts the music, then the two terrorists are in Business Class behind. We have three nights in hotels crossing France. I’ve done it with two nights on my own and it was stressful. Motorways in France have 130km an hour speed limit (81mph) which is great but, again, gets v stressful by the end of the day. Better an extra night, in my opinion. Stay safe. Xx

    Chapter 8

The writing is as taut as the ship’s cables. Such a vivid description.

    Prologue

Don’t normally “do” Vampires but this caught me. Very nice writing style, indeed. To be followed.
  24. Happy Tuesday, everyone from Aussie and N Zealand through to continental Europe! The rest of you have still got Monday to finish first…

    Bane

Yep, this is classic @lomax61 story, quietly, or not, driving his readers mad as we struggle to make sense of his torturous plots! Great stuff!
