Not an easy read for those who were already adults in the 80’s. It is described by the author as “autobiographical”, but raises questions as to whether this is a literary device or a factual account. Regardless, it shows the worst and best of humanity in the worst days of the AIDS pandemic.
For younger readers, this might in the PREP generation seem ancient history but as one report I read estimates that 25% of men on the gay scene in London are HIV+, perhaps there is a relevance here for all.
