    The Opera

I always thought that they were two different characters but with the same surname. Is that correct, Mark?

    The Opera

Exactly! A perfect start to my last day of holiday in the mountains. Thanks 😊

Me too! He is the Zach of the Bridgemont saga….

    Burns and Scars

Glad to know there is no water shortage in CA…. I THINK I have a form of hydrophobia.. I loath showers, and bath tubs even more. I only shower daily for hygiene, never for pleasure. I’m happy to walk on our wonderful beaches but haven’t set foot in the sea in decades. To each his/her own.

    The Inferno

    Yep! 👍
  7. Can’t be a Brit as we call “yellow mustard” “English”, of course! Not someone who lives in/ has visited frequently NYC for only eating that monster sandwich once. Hates coffee, me too but not a huge help. Perhaps of mature years? Had health issues in past, perhaps 🤔. “Mate” umm an Aussie, perhaps. Ok, I admit it, I’m no Sherlock H. I haven’t a clue…..
  8. There is a beautiful but haunting video in uk press of married guys rejoicing about their trip to India and the spiritual blessings of their trip. Apparently, it was posted the night before they died on the way home.
  9. Left or right turns, usually the opposite direction to that which has been, politely, requested. Now they are enjoying the delights of a country cottage with wooden stairs and floors. I have a suitcase to block the stairs off!
  10. What they said! Well done and I look forward to putting more “love it” icons! I await the back catalogue with anticipation, though whether my heart is up to some bits….. 🤗
  11. They were soooo ……. Goood. 9 hour journey and perfect behaviour. These wiener dogs can, after all, be good! Now in Asturias, n Spain. Perfection.
  12. Think I had my last doughnut, oh a week ago in Frankfurt airport lounge. They were tiny, round, no filling but to die for. And given price of flight I should have brought a bag home… now 3/4 packed car for our next trip with the evil duo. @kbois and @weinerdog get ready for horrifying tales of what they get up to in N Spain. It’s a long road trip but nearly all on motorway…. We will be in a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere but surrounded by amazing scenery (Los Picos de Europa) and medieval churches and monasteries (our joint hobby). Hasta pronto, amigos y amigas x
  13. Now that could be a word for the day! I’ve never seen it before. My sheltered upbringing?
  14. something nice to wake up to on a Saturday morning!
  15. I know! And I really liked it. Well done. 👍
  16. Go with your best friend to “Burger Bliss!” and who knows if you too can be lucky!! a v short piece but packed to the brim with goodies. Excellent.

    Chapter 1

In fewer than a thousand words you have communicated so much much than a guy asking for a phone number. Jack is the best accepting mate and Ben, the mystery man. You leave us with the big question- will he, won’t he - which is a sign for me as a reader of a good short piece of writing. BTW, I love your writing style, let’s see more, please!
  18. Join the queue!
  19. “Then there was Liam.” ….. So much contained in those four words!
  20. There are cave dwellings still inhabited in a nearby town, Paterna, which featured in an Almodóvar film with Penelope Cruz! “”Dolor y Gloria” 2019. The “casa-cuevas” as they are called here play an important role in the film.
  21. A few health issues plus the evil dachshund puppies have rather stunted my creativity. I have a couple of things, stewing away. Next week we have two weeks in the mountains of N Spain (Los Picos de Europa) without internet so I’m hoping to do a follow up to the little thing I wrote about the last potter..
  22. Yep, that’s true! Thanks for the acknowledgement… I try to support new writers as much as I can, recommendations, reviews, comments etc. Good luck with your writings, Gary
  23. Entered a whole world very different from my needs or desires, but the writer’s skill is to draw even someone like me into that world; to see his world from his perspective, even if I don’t fully understand it. A stimulating and challenging read. I’m hooked.
