    You are not alone, my friend…. Greetings from the sickbay. Lilibeth has pulled off and eaten two dressings after blood test this morning where she won an Oscar for screaming, howling and screeching, and that was before the first attempt to insert a needle… finally owners were sent out and veterinary reinforcements were called in., shameful

    No matter how great the trip groceries (and laundry) always are waiting….. A great few days for our heroes.. Another very good read. Thank you!

    An interesting day…. 09.00 trapped in lift with the weinerdogs. Managed to escape after 10 min as one dog started to cry. Technician came out and put out of order sign up (holiday here in Valencia). As we carried dogs up flights of stairs we found out that power was off in most of Spain. Nine hours later it’s on but patchy internet. Hundreds were trapped in lifts, train tunnels etc etc. uff.

    I totally agree, a delightful chapter and a reminder of my visit to Chatsworth many years ago. I wonder what they would have thought of the Lucien Freud paintings! Not quite what I expected …

    Very, very clever piece of writing. Well done. One thing could have increased my pleasure, by explaining what the object was after the poem, thereby letting the reader speculate as they read about what the object was. Not a criticism of a delightful piece of poetry. Thanks

    As I was reading this last night, the end music of a series came drifting in Cass Eliot singing her wonderful “Make your own kind of music”. Rather apt for the characters here, I thought, not quite so for the serial killer in the series El Jardinero on Spanish Netflix. Weird.

    Me neither but then I’m totally, and violently allergic to any type of cheese. When I went to live in Italy decades ago, I had a list of phrase to be translated: no cheese, please; a gin and tonic please; can I get you a drink? …. I didn’t need anything else, except for 🍀
