That’s how I understood the scenario. It could be turned into something much darker but I don’t think so. Love the humourous style of our hero’s mind. Waiting for chp 2. Good start, indeed.

Post Brexit the rules changed for acceptance of uk documents in EU. Uk guidelines dont show this. So first attempt was rejected for not having an “apostille” attached to my uk documents. Then with second attempt they rejected sworn notary declaration for not quoting a 2004 law. Finally all done. Means I’m safe from eviction by partners’ horrible relatives and we both get widower pension rights in uk and Spain. Not much but some security. -

Hi everyone! Just want to share some great news: after a year, three attempts and 1000£ in fees, I now have a civil partnership approved in Spain. 25 yrs after a one night stand and we have survived!!! So happy. -

This resonates with me too. I attended three primary/elementary schools all over England, one of them twice. At the age of 10 the lad from Manchester landed in Kent, s of London, to be ridiculed for his weird accent. Fortunately I survived but shed many tears as the outsider. Secondary education, at least was in one school and an excellent one at that. great writing

@Mrsgnomie, I too have come back for a reread of, now, four of your stories. Whilst I loved the buzz of the weekly installments and the great “crac” in the comments, reading them through without distractions made me realise just how good the stories are and the intricacies of their plots. Above all, I think the most enjoyable part is seeing your characters growing through some pretty rough patches and reaching the other side. May the muse be with you! Totally agree with this excellent analysis. The change over (makeover) from the awful JJ (in my view) to the maturing rapidly Jeremy has been a pleasure to read. Great writing, of course, v clever storyline and yet with the odd flash of the JJ of old. Brilliant!
