The task of reciprocating hospitality doesn’t seem to have been too burdensome!! And their guest didn’t outstay his welcome. All in all, a satisfactory weekend for our two protagonists… v enjoyable,

This came up in the secret author contest - and what an amazing read. The command of the English language is breathtaking. At times it is as if poetry were written in prose. This linguistic ability only enhances the desperate nature of the story itself. I’m pretty hard hearted but even I was moved to have my eyes glistening (only a little) at the end. one of the best short pieces (13k words) that is a masterpiece. Wonderful.

Simply breathtakingly sad, with a “happy” ending enough to break one’s heart. The English is exquisite, totally compelling in it’s breadth. One could quote a dozen examples of the character’s pain. Just one: Now all I had were husks of the tomorrow we dreamed of together. An amazingly good piece of writing. Thank you

This entry in the 2024 Secret Author Contest is excellent. It takes the theme of a group of friends have their pre Christmas party with the usual Secret Santa presents…. Whilst the theme is not uncommon, this story is a very classy version. There are lots of great moments, ideas etc., running jokes, all written with a skillful hand. The story is in and of itself complete but more could be told of Jason’s future. It might not be Christmas now but this is well-worth reading every holiday season. Well done!

I’m really enjoying this story. It’s out of my usual range and all the better for it. It is still fresh although written quite a few years ago (before I had ever heard of GA!)

Totally agree with @raven1. I haven’t really read any of the western genre but inspired by the Western Deep Dive lists, I’ve been diving and this is the second one to be read. Although my great uncle worked on an Irish stud farm, I find horses to be a beautiful but alien creature. But I’m here to learn!

An interesting triangle of relationships. One starts 100% on one person’s side, then get another one, and finally we get it. Very cleverly thought out and very nicely written. Can’t believe I missed this one first time around. It is very good, in my opinion.

Thanks. I’m not familiar with some of the step/half relationship names. I can see how it works with Brad as the wicked stepmother he didn’t know he had for many years but it just seemed strange to call her Will’’s grandmother with no blood or legal link. However, the most important thing is what is going to happen next? This episode was one of your best!

A very distinctive story, a wild road-trip with a sub on leave from his dom, and a straight woman. Very good story with a great epilogue. Nicely done.

Are you sure, esteemed author? By marriage to Brad’s biological father but there isn’t a bloodline to Will. Or will I have to reread everything as a punishment for not concentrating? 🤗 You have got many of reaching for your back catalogue!
