Unfortunately the canal walks have deteriorated but the overall atmosphere in the bars is still good, especially in the summer where you can have a drink sitting next to the canal enjoying a good atmosphere in good company meeting and making new friends. It's something I've enjoyed in the past with friends and family and still do, sometimes I go on my own just to bask in memories, although my drink is always non-alcoholic for medical reasons. -

There are many good and constructive comments on this thread, including the comments regarding respect which I'm sure many of us can take something positive from and learn. maybe if those of us that contributed can take that away from here and be more mindful that we practise it (that is not to say that we don't already) others will pick up on it and practise it too. -

You could have a point there, lol, it's a great city and I do enjoy going to Canal Street, where some of it was filmed, it's good atmosphere. 😁 -

It doesn't take much effort to leave a comment but many don't appear to want to make even a little effort. I always try to leave at least a reaction and in almost all cases a comment if nothing else but to let the author know that I have enjoyed the story and appreciate their hard work. I haven't posted much but I have had some good and encouraging comments for which I am appreciative and let the reader know with a reply. If an author doesn't respond to comments then readers will give up leaving them, maybe in some cases this is the reason for the lack of comments for some authors. -
With the depressing situation that homeless people are often in humour is sometimes the only thing helps them through the bad times, unfortunately many don't manage to get out of it. I'm sure they would enjoy a bit of humour in The Boot. 😉 The list of other organisations and services they work with is a long one, some of the others are those that give support to help with problems of mental health, addiction to drugs and alcohol as well as ones that give varying forms of help to enable a return to work and the list goes on. Thanks for the heads-up on the film I'll be looking it up.

Don't try to force it try to let it come naturally, if you try too hard and try to force it you're more likely to push it away. Give yourself time and I'm sure your muse will return, I hope it does as I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. You have a talent that I can only dream of.

I'm not sure who would be more hurt in that situation, both are hurt, both are at fault and there are no easy answers to resolve it. Jason's reaction may not be the right way deal with thing's but it's understandable. This is a story with a lesson that we can all learn from.

That's definitely a night to remember, okay so the plans went awry but hey that's real life and that's what this describes, which includes the best part of any relationship the love that is shared in any good relationship. Thank you for bringing us all down to earth in a good way with these guys.

Thank you for your comments, we may hear more from the boys in the future. Both @Backwoods Boy for his editing and @Jdonley75 for beta reading were a great support to me in writing the story.

Thank you @droughtquake for your comments and particularly for speaking up on the homeless situation that exists worldwide. Here in the UK the authorities don't go as far as to almost 'criminalise' homelessness but in many respects they do come close to it. As you rightly point out there are many reasons for homelessness and these 'root causes' need to be handled correctly to try and prevent homelessness occurring. All shelters that provide as best they can work hard on this uphill struggle.

I am considering the option of further stories relating to John/Christian, The Major and what the future holds for Kevin and Ian. The Boot may also have its own further stories to tell, anything is possible. Thank you for your kind comment, it's encouraging.

You're not whining, you are speaking up and speaking out for everyone who is ignored so please do not apologise, it is up to those who choose to ignore to apologise. I'm happy that you can relate to the story, but I'm also sorry if it brought back memories that cause you any hurt or distress that was never the intention. I hope that like I do you have good memories to carry forward.
