When I commented last chapter that Andre “had something in his head” he was not disclosing, I was thinking a bad experience with a past boyfriend, not being molested and under the control of a pedophile for three years! I am happy he finally told someone but hope he gets some therapy soon. Also, I had no issues with Andre pointing out ugly bedding and encouraging the purchase of new ones! I have experienced something similar, sometimes people are blind to items they have been living with for years and it takes new eyes to really see them.

Aglaron has finally broken out of his "woe is me" mindset and is fighting back with ingenuity. I hope he comes out of this as a better person, father, and king. His track record thus far has not been good.

What we have seen with your High King happens in real life, as well. When rulers have ruled for a very long time, they lose touch with their common constituents, they listen too much to "trusted advisors", and they care only about keeping the status quo. Aglaron was a fool for listening to Maynor rather than his own heart.

Let's all not forget Frank had a part in this plan and has been conspicuously missing in both Rory's and Danny's accounting of events that night. Also, perhaps insignificant, but I have been wondering about Micco's father. Who is he, does Micco know him, did he have anything to do with the fire, is he still alive?

Either Rory or Danny are not telling the truth, or we are missing something. Rory said Sam changed his mind, but Danny said Sam was getting ready to open the enclosures. “Danny,” Chase says, trying, I’m sure, but failing to keep the glee from his tone. “According to Rory, Sam had changed his mind about your plan. He wasn’t going to go through with it. Because of his feelings for Michael.” “So you said,” Danny whispers. “He didn’t. He didn’t come back. Right away.” It’s a stuttering start, and I brace myself to pry the rest loose, but Danny surprises me and finds his stride. “He said fifteen minutes. That’s all it would take. But it was twenty-five. He left the gate open, so I… I got out and went looking for him.”

Micco and Chase reacted to tall, hairy, claws, and the smell of rotting meat. Was the gut reaction to memories of stories or to a memory of the fire and murders?

I think Russ will turn out to be a good friend for the guys. He’s also good with Toby and Drew and Evie. This felt like an interlude. Will we enjoy a holiday soon?

I think something is going on in Andre’s head that he hasn’t disclosed, even to his brother, who didn’t understand why he wasn’t ready to move in. I don’t feel like he’s a bad guy, though.

This is a wonderful story of friendship between two boys that contrast and complement each other. One is a genius with a broken body, the other is physically gifted with intellectual disabilities. Both are extraordinary and they change the world.

I was afraid that something was going to happen to Barega since Akama never mentioned a brother in Attunga. This was so sad, but sometimes tragedies are the only things that precipitate change.

I am on vacation in Florida right now, so couldn't read this through in one chunk of time. I am soooo jealous of their beach estate! I feel good at how you ended this, we know the couples will be great dads. Who knows, maybe an adventure for their pups will be in the future.

People like this exist now, and unfortunately will in the future, both IRL and in your story. I think it's because they want a poorly educated population to control. Almost all dictators and cult leaders cut off legitimate communication with enlightened people. Free speech and education are the antidote.

IRL a hurricane would scare the crap out of me. In a story…….hell yea!

Sam was only ever going to get the money if the rescue was closed. The only way Martina gets any money is through the rescue, so she needs it to stay open. Bad publicity does her no good. Sam getting killed has only bad effects on Martina. The only slim possibility that she is involved would be accidentally catching Sam in the act of letting the animals loose. But, if Rory is to be believed, Sam called off the plan. Someone had something to gain by Sam being dead.
