Another reader commented on how well the boys compliment each other, I couldn't agree more. I was a bit taken aback by the big greeting by so many family members. It attests to the love and commitment Mirri's family has for him. I have high hopes that this new doctor may be able to help Jarra. My impression is that Jarra and his dad are not well-off, and the many changes in doctors were due to overwhelmed public healthcare.

This is part romance/part adventure. Our two young men both love nature, but have different ways of looking at the world. They come together through necessity and choice in this short but exciting tale.

Oh, I can already tell I'm going to like this! I'm already attached to Mirri and Jarra. I'm wondering if we will meet a very young Akama? I remember him being over a 100, but I don't know about 120. I have read several Australian authors, and I tend to Google unfamiliar locations and words, so I'm fairly familiar with Australian geography. But, usually it's the coastal cities featured, not dissimilar to the US. Central Australia will be new to me, as a US Midwesterner I appreciate living in the middle. I discovered the title to this is the Arrernte word for where they live.

It's good to see Andre and Chris rubbing off on each other. Andre is pulling Chris into a more social and up to date existence, and Chris is exposing Andre to living as a full adult not in the care of his old-fashioned parents. Although he still is, of course. I wonder what is up with that? This new Jaime/Michael twist sounds like it will be very interesting!

I think it's the lack of consequences. If you open up to friends, family, and coworkers, there are repercussions and fallout. That kind of behavior is, of course, very nonHazday-like! His openness with his opinions was legendary and admirable.

I loved this little nugget of Hazdayness. It's interesting how we sometimes have such candid conversations with complete strangers precisely because they are strangers. I enjoyed the suggestions of CJ and co. as shifters, there is no doubt which one is the alpha!

This is a must read for sci-fi fans. It is a very well-written adventure with engaging characters who grow and accomplish amazing things. Attunga has basis in Australia, but the fantastical world it inhabits reaches across our solar system.

What a wonderful story! I was fortunate to find it over the holidays and had lots of time to just snuggle up and read. This was so well thought out and constructed, it made for a great adventure.

WOW! I couldn't go to sleep until I finished this chapter, now I can comment this morning. I remember commenting after an early chapter that I was worried Thom would feel left behind by the accomplishments of Calen and Wirren. He certainly pulled through and, with their help, the trio saved the habitat.

It appears the struggle for survival for Tasmanian Devils has improved, but they are still endangered. Quambi according to Google means: quamby [ˈkwɒmbi] VERB AUSTRALIAN DATED lie down, especially in order to sleep: "the combatants quambied near the battlefield that night" Very appropriate!

I felt like they should have been whispering when they were moving through the chasm! The guys (and dolphin) live such exciting lives.

Great tension! The rogue is smart, but Wirren is smarter! Perhaps kidnapping a habitat is enough of a trigger for the good guys to go on the offense, rather than continually playing defense.

For a while now, Wirren has seemed to not be fully aware of just how special and important he really is. He is now being forced to accept this new reality. I think he will handle it well due to his strong support system.

We didn't think Marina and Val would have a problem with Noah, but now it's confirmed. I think Noah will strike up his courage when his parents begin speaking about his older brother. I think Brian and Gordon are doing a great job raising a 14 year old modern gay kid!

It’s scary to imagine how K74 would use enhancements. I suspect they would use them to enslave populations to perform certain tasks. Rather than to uplift and empower, as is happening with the dolphins.

That was an action packed chapter! I wonder at the fallout from Earth, but I'm mainly happy that they are safe and on their way back home.

Well my hope that Wirrin and Akama would get to explore was realized, rudely interrupted. The bad guys are stepping up their tech, distressingly so!

I'm still loving the story, but I think it's a little sad that our trio had never seen a sky or felt a real breeze. Such an alien thought to an earthling. I hope that Akama and Wirren get to experience some of their heritage.
