My first thoughts when reading the flashback were the same as @84Mags I think that Chase was devastated by Micco saying he couldn't ever love him more than as a brother. No real guesses on who the killer is yet, but I don't think it was Danny. I doubt he's that good of an actor. But just what did he see that makes him so sure that Micco is the killer?

Jubal is battling some powerful demons, memories and fear! If he were to ride away, he would add regret to those demons. I wonder if Lucas is looking at Jubal like Jubal is looking at the wildings? Some serious calming has been happening, and needs to continue if Jubal will be at ease enough to fully trust in Lucas.

Yum!!!! We have several local bars/restaurants here that have roasted Brussels on their appetizer menus. We are not alone!

I think that Brian and Gordon living together will work as long as they continue to communicate openly. Their respite at the beach resort was an opportunity to explore, but both acknowledged that they didn't intend to live that way when they get back to England. I have a feeling we will see Amad again in the future.

Calhoun is a complete and utter asshole! The real question is will Chase choose his boss over his childhood friend? Evil vs. Good? Did Micco kill Sam, I don't think so. Would I support him if he did, hell yes!

One question I haven't seen addressed, have you consulted with @astone2292with regards to shadow shifters? Are they the opposite of light shifters? Can Asa move through sunlight? Is healing apart of his affinity?

Brian pulled his head out of his ass! I respect him for figuring out what he wants and needs and doing it. His work prospects are looking up, but his plans of living with mom instead of Gordon may not last long. I love long stories, so I'm happy you are planning on 32 +. This was a very positive, future-building chapter and well written with realistic dialogue, great job.

It appears that his lawyer was trying to paint Joe as a rather rich man. Which, I suppose, he was. Though, not super rich, certainly well off. And about as well off as Ella's family, I'm guessing. I still find it doubtful the judge would look at Ella as a gold-digger.

I'm not sure that this fits into my initial thoughts on who Brian is. His general lack of "true love" for his ex makes me wonder why he is giving her so much power. Even across the globe. His hangups appear to be less about being "the man" and more about being anti-Deirdre.

I like Gordon, I have high hopes for their future. I’m with @FanLitthough, I’m very surprised at the “I won’t top, but I’ll bottom”. Very unusual!

The following was copied from the summary: Caleb Micco has been merely existing ever since his banishment from his Montana pack-- living in Texas, but refusing to become part of the pack willing to take him in. His thoughts are leading him down an ever-increasing dark path. Can a chance encounter with a local farrier make a difference in his life? Bigger question- can it make a difference in the lives of the hybrids stuck between human and wolf? We have not yet been introduced to the farrier, so we know Caleb survives. Also, was he shot by a poacher? A rancher? A person who knows exactly who Caleb is?

I hope all goes well with your health! I was only going to mow around the house, since we haven't had rain for a month, and thought about not putting on the bug spray. I put it on anyway and ended up mowing "the back forty", so no ticks or chiggers today!

I have a mostly vegetarian coworker who has the occasional BLT! Everyone needs an indulgence in their diet.

I get the impression that Toby has been dealing with a lot of doubt, worry, and stress inside his head. He at least has a good friend who seems accepting of Toby. Having his dad and grandma on his side has to help immeasurably. He already wants to live with his dad, once he returns from the Emirates. Now he has a possible emergency home with his Grandma if Jasper causes too many problems. On a lighter note, I wonder how many E-numbers are in Denise's cake!

Part Two. Chapter Eight.
CincyKris commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Part Two. Chapter Eight.
If Dayna had lived she would have eventually ended up going viral as a "Karen"! -
Reid calling Lucas "my boy" certainly elicited a different response than from the fatherly and kind Morey. I'm going to guess that Lucas ended their relationship and perhaps did so because he preferred to not be someone's "boy" anymore. I'm hoping Reid doesn't try and get between our guys, but sometimes such a thing can be a catalyst for good change.

I really enjoyed the realistic tone and conversation. I hope that father and son will be able to live together when Brian's term of service is complete. With Gordon? Maybe. Please don't "Americanize" the language, if we don't understand something, we can Google it. I will now forever think of preservatives as E-numbers.

Thanks for the info, it answered a lot of questions I had. When do we get to meet Mischa? We've heard so much about him but never from him. I'm looking forward to church later. I may never have uttered that phrase before!

Lawyer, lawyer, lawyer!!!! This is the only thing Micco should say to Chase and Special Agent Douchebag. Regarding the overwhelming hate feelings, I'm with @drpaladinon this, I think it's an animal, but if it isn't one of their own wolves, who was it? I believe we learned a gunshot was involved in his nightmares, not just a fire. We are learning of the circumstances of his parent(s) death and his resulting PTSD little by little. Another possible blackout has got to be putting Micco completely off-kilter, not good going into an interrogation.

These two fit very well together!

I first read this story a few years ago before I was a member. I read all of Gary's stories when I found Cards on the Table and Morningstar Malaise , this really stuck with me as a pick-me-up feel-good story. I highly suggest it for a quick binge read of a well written story that will take you to a great place, regardless of what's going on in the real world.

Long John Silver ....... I love it! And you're not the only one that talks to your cat, as long as I don't hear human responses back in my head I'm not worried.

I'm hoping their building a lot more than just a fine castle!

Whatever happened to Micco as an under-ten-year-old, Chase knows all about it. Micco mentioned the smell of smoke and the sound of his mother screaming, but also of cruel laughter. I think more happened to him as a little kid than a house fire and his mother's death. Billy was and still is a huge influence, but who raised Micco? It seems that Micco was in love with Chase and his best friend's rejection devastated him. Great job ratcheting up the tension, the looming hurricane adds an extra level!

I found the POV changes very distracting. Reread the passage at the restaurant, you switch back and forth. It pulled me out of the story and I had to go back over it a few times.
