I loved this "settling in" chapter. Toby is thriving as much as his new plants and bugs. His joy has spread to the rest of the family. As for Deirdre and Jasper, they are getting prepared but not obsessing over the worst case scenario.

I see no problems with Gracie running her restaurant the way she wants, it worked for the "Soup Nazi"! Although she may want to upgrade her food. Speaking of food, pineapple does not belong on the same crust as Italian flavored tomato sauce! Would you put pineapple in your spaghetti???? Poor Micco, he's so in his own head he's not seeing the whole picture. He has several people who care deeply about him, but he won't let them in. On the flip side, we have new info! Sam was broke and he was secretly in love with Micco.

Great point, I didn't think of the possibility of Val going with him but appearing as a human! Makes me wonder if his friend and his family (Parallax's caretakers) are not human in this world. Is Parallax even a cat in this world?

I enjoyed the quiet intimacy that followed the fun verbal sparring. I'm more convinced than ever that Lucas has a spurned former lover on his hands. Reid is perhaps finally realizing just what he lost, but I don't believe that Lucas is regretting anything. If Reid keeps playing his games, Lucas will be regretting ever starting up with Reid in the first place. I hope that Jubal doesn't use this discord to start feeling like he is a bother to Lucas. He internalizes everything, which makes sense for someone that has only ever had one real confidante, Vincent. Maybe his almost fatal mistake was thinking he had another Vincent.- 80 comments

Asa will be invaluable to the pack! I cringe to think about the effect healing the hybrid pups one by one would have! I hope for Asa's sake healing the hybrids will be easier than Caleb.
