    Chapter 39

I just read this for the first time, so I only know the rewritten ending. I very much enjoyed it, though agree a continuation would be appreciated.
  2. CincyKris

    Chapter 33

I have to add another finally! And I don't think JJ knows how to not be stubborn.
  3. CincyKris

    Chapter 25

I think Olivia found his diary?
  4. This makes me so happy! It's refreshing (and very unusual) to read unbridled happiness that doesn't make me want to gag (not in the good way). Great writing! We'll take as many more chapters you're willing to give us. I don't think I could get tired of these two.

    Chapter 3

I thought prostitution was legal in Vegas. Just found this story, really good so far.
  6. It feels like Boone's self defense mechanisms are causing him to convince himself there is no hope for more than friendship with Coy. I hope this doesn't stop Coy from continuing his own internal explorations. Traveling alone for so long doesn't allow for many distractions, something that's going to change in a hurry. Sometimes having a lot of work lets my thoughts percolate and I come out a lot clearer on the other side.
  7. Now I'm wondering whether Will was a self-hating closet case (like so many gay-bashers) or just a religious based hater. He wouldn't be the first (or even millionth) person to pick only the parts of the bible that agree with established views and use those views to justify his hate.
  8. Both our boys showed a tremendous amount of trust in each other to make their confessions. This conversation will be the foundation for a strong lifetime relationship. Now, the question is, what kind of relationship? I know my vote!
  9. I don't think I've wanted two characters to end up together more than these men. Forget Sam & Dianne (sorry, showing my age), Ross & Rachel, Tony & Ziva - - those were couples EVERYONE knew would end up together, eventually. Creating real sexual tension means the author leaves the possibility that the characters might not connect (permanently, or even temporarily). I'm hoping they will, but I don't know for sure that they will. Great writing!
  10. Love, love, LOVE this chapter. Boone's only thoughts when he was waiting to die were of Coy. Apparently Coy's thoughts were filled with Boone. Sounds a lot like love, even if they're not able to admit it to each other (or even to themselves) yet.

    Chapter 23

Although I'm sure our evil author will torture us with lots of twists and turns until we get there, I can't wait until Jimmy defeats and usurps Fergus.
  12. I wholeheartedly agree with the above comments regarding the storm description. You captured the urgency and panic of both man and beast. I also loved the sentence "As excited as he was for what lay ahead, he sorely missed what lay behind". Great writing!
  13. Great story telling. Well written, engaging characters, twists and turns, even a romance. Not sure why this story didn't receive much attention earlier.

    Chapter 42

I loved it. Can't understand why it hasn't garnered more attention.

    Chapter 36

So maybe Rob isn't completely stupid.
  16. CincyKris

    Chapter 35

Can poor Rob really be that stupid? He is in love with Elizabeth, so I guess so.

    Chapter 34

    Right again! Maybe?
  18. CincyKris

    Chapter 33

    Dr. Cobb?

    Chapter 30

I went back and re-read the previous chapter. Jim didn't admit to killing Cynthia, only to fill Marcy. So, who killed Cynthia and kidnapped and tortured White? Mullen?
  20. CincyKris

    Chapter 28

So this all comes back to Cale's asshole father. Wonder what he did to Jim all those years ago?
  21. CincyKris

    Chapter 27

Yay!!! I love guessing the killer before they're revealed.

    Chapter 25

First, I want to agree with an earlier comment. I don't understand why no one reacted to or commented on this story for so many years. It's engrossing, fast paced, a really good mystery. Second, I'm now leaning towards Jim as the killer. He could have deleted the message on drew's machine. He's probably hiding the strange vehicle in his garage.

    Wotan

Heinrich Sr. is a classic micromanager. They don't believe anyone knows as much, can do as much, or do anything correctly other than them. They tend to make up their minds about people quickly and it's nearly impossible to change their opinions through good behavior. I've had bosses like this (thankfully not ones I'm related to), and the only way to escape this kind of tyranny is to move on. I know Rick has strong roots, a house, old friends, but I don't see him coming into his own in this town, with this father/boss.
  24. I love that I have Mondays off work! "Morning afters" are often difficult. Whether it's a morning after a fight, sex, or big decisions, you have to pick up the pieces and readjust your life. As much as I want to see these two together, I still think a separation is the best choice for both of them. It was interesting to see their roles reversed in this conversation. Coy is already starting to become stronger. Great chapter!
  25. I can't imagine being as completely alone as Coy is now. Referencing the bible quote at the beginning of the chapter, at least Boone has some hope for his future. That's why he's moving on. Coy has just been reacting to loss after loss. But, maybe he needs this separation to be an independent person for the first time in his life. Tough love.
