It's the small matters that always end up being important... That French Lieutenant could just have placed the Carters in peril... And that young American corporal could just have upended their mission. That being said...I like to believe being a soldier has to rank up there with the most 'problematic' professions....Where you have to follow orders/make decisions that are against one's morals. This chapter for me is when Lyn finally comes out into the light.. When he finally understands that love requires one to be bold enough to let go and be vulnerable.. It's been a wonderful journey for me to see him come from an emotionally 'closed off' young man to the man we meet in this chapter. Very well written @Laura S. Fox.... Thank you!

This chapter for me just enriched the previous Present day one....it's clearly illustrates the depth of affection that Alexander had for Lyn.. I feel like this chapter demonstrates that despite everything going on with these men in the past, in that particular moment when the photo was taken ,their friendship was profound...They were 'hiding' from each other sure, but when it mattered(in the small moments) they showed up for each other.

@vanalas...I warned you before...😄...If you dare 'hurt' our Dean ,and from the looks of this chapter you are planning to ,I will 'sue' you... At first reading, one concludes that Ned really fucked up big time ..but as one reads it again, it becomes clear that it was the best decision. They were both injured with their lives in peril . That being said you really have outdone yourself with Graves...I don't think there is a character whose downfall am looking more forward to than his ...I don't even wish him to die..I wish to see him completely 'neutered'.For him to fall so low that he can never rise again😄...That is how emotional that character gets me Thank you!

Blimey!...loneliness does make strange bedfellows...lol.....Jared/Caleb and Peter/Jason...I wonder how the latter paring even happened. Must have been lots of divine intervention🤣🤣 That being said. I don't think I have ever felt such a murderous rage than the one I felt when I was reading the sequence involved Jared and the money people....What this version of Trump and his acolytes did/plan to do warrants a firing squad . ..bloody leeches the lot of them !

That was a really depressing but beautiful epilogue....I don't know if it's only me who has realized this but there is a pattern...all our young heroes have been touched by the Might in some way . ...All the main lads of the story are descended from someone who has might or Interacted with the Might ...Bartos is powerful and I like to believe a product of a Devil's bargain from his father ..Franz ...Zdain..Josel and now Darren ....You sir have crafted a gem...I cannot wait long enough for Book 4 to drop... That being said ...I look forward to the day when the good/Light will start taking the fight to Dark...There is so much loss going on the side of Light ...first Marl ...and now Jestok(even though we hardly knew you).... I like the fact that the mutilated man(Chab) comes out of this epilogue as the dark horse of the saga going forward....I cannot wait to see how Bartos and Chab will fare going forward as this book has so far hinted that they are the two most powerful of Might users.. Thank you!
