I did not get that impression when was reading Agent Reed' s part .He seems like one who wants things to be bloody left alone..The kind who believe folks should not have the ability to wield otherworldly power.

That closing scene of him at the Police station is of a man who has come to a realisation that he is reaping the consequences of his choices..It reminded me of Michael Henchard from The Mayor of Casterbridge ...A man felled by his own choices . It's tragic really..he has totally given up on himself and the world..even the one other person he could always count on .Miriam

I.just realised something today that I had not before... Their first names are an indication of the aggregates they are Masters of .. Hugo..Master of the Aggregate of Mind.. That song is right for this chapter indeed... This was one of the most heart wrenching chapters and you have written a lot of those over the years😏... Emotions especially love are messy...In the end no one comes from this chapter unscathed... The pain, the heartbreak and the despair on all parties involved. It was a really soul crushing read. I know am the only person who is seems sympathetic to Jace's plight...but God ..this chapter had him through a wringer. The physical assault he is subjected to by Elijah and his guards, the slaps from Noah and then that ending scene, he has temporarily lost his freedom. He is a beaten,drowning man who who given totally given up on life..A man who is trapped in regret . Thank you @vanalas!

For a moment there ,I thought you were going to mention Agent Smith😀😀.. Oh he is a good one...we only just been 'introduced' to him physically in the recent chapters but one cannot help but feel the menace that he is.. Its like Sauron in the Lord of the Rings books...he is not physically encountered by our protagonists but the menace ,the terror that elicits in them is intense and overwhelming. That's the same thing I 'felt' about him when Kate /The bride mentioned him to Hugo... This scene of his just makes him even more chilling and scary.. He is the Col.Hans Landa of this tale😀 P.s...pardon me if I rely too much on reference of movie characters😀😀

I can relate to that too @Cane23..It is soul sapping. What makes it even more painful is that you are left to struggle on your own .The other parties being too involved with themselves..to even notice that you are unraveling.

Yesterday was watching a clip of Rowan Atkinson(Mr.Bean fame) ..I think it was a stand up he did...He was the devil and he was assigning places for the fallen in hell..and then there was point where he was assigning The French, the Americans...and the current head of state whose name shall not be named....Reading this chapter ..especially that scene between Eisenhower and Dottie made me think he was right😀😀... You explained the Butterfly effect of time travel in that Agent Reed Scene so well...I have always struggled with stuff that deal with time travel. Thank you...and can we have a petition to have Dottie Umbridge get some karma😀😀

I feel sympathy for him because can't help it.hihi...Thats why I mentioned consequences...We all have to face those with each choice and decision we make. His choices, indecisiveness and cowardice have led him to where he is.. it's always hard for me to see a character unravel like that especially since the character in question is one of the main protagonist.....It happened to Daniel in the previous story...it's happening here

OMG!...what did I just read?..Two chapters in a row have seen battered women(Eirene and now Ariadne) rise like phoenixes and take back their power.Declare that they are done being pawns. My..has it been nice to read...It was literally an Queen Elsa moment .You know from Frozen..Eirene and Ariadne decided to let go and woe to anyone who thinks otherwise😂😂 Our Golden couple made us swoon...their public display of unrestrained passion and devotion even elicited yearning and envy in the cold dead hearts of the vampires..You boys rock! Renato...the intrepid guardian watching calmly , unfazed by Valerius's macho posturing😂😂...I swear I want Valerius's end to be slow and painful...Reminded of the Originals....one smarmy vampire villain was trapped in a container and thrown in the sea...Imagine having to repeatedly drown...that torture would be ideal for Valerius..See what you gone and done to me now?😂.....Bringing out my Dark impulses😀 Mother...being called out for what she really is...a sycophant..who overestimates herself.. She needs to be thrown around like a rag doll.. That being said...this chapter was superb ..I cannot describe more...Thank you!

This chapter, especially that last scene of Alexander and Lyn, made me feel sad for Lyn. That bloke could use some visits at a therapist .That dire need to be in control, not to be vulnerable has made him close himself up. It harkens back to the scene in the first chapter,the one with his friends with benefits. I like to believe that arrangement would have morphed into something more significant but for Lyn's emotional detachment. That being said...am glad this happened..It might not be much but at least it has opened Lyn up to the possibility albeit subconsciously that it's okay to surrender control .To let go because there is someone who will catch you when you fall. He only just have to get out of his head😂😂.
