    Chapter 36 S2

Yep, drs, it happens very often, unless your spouse likes football as much as you do. Devin and Mac have that going for them. 😃

Thanks, Chris, but there is more to come. Same time, same place, next week.

    Chapter 36 S2

Personally, I've pretty much given up on Pro-Football , although I might watch some playoff games and the Superbowl. I'm basically a college football fan.

    Chapter 36 S2

I take it you don't like American football then.

    Chapter 36 S2

Yes, @weinerdog (sorry, I forgot to quote you, I agree that family and the holidays are always a great time, 🎅 unless of course you're part of a dysfunctional family. 😜 As far as the money clip is concerned, I don't believe Mac was thinking ahead as far as the summer when he bought it. It was more that he was worried that Devin would drop money when he pulled things out of his money, not realize or notice it and end up losing it. And who know what's going to happen during the summer.

    Chapter 36 S2

Yes, the families are becoming like one big happy family. As far as your other question, you'll have to wait and see what happens next, but I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.
  7. Chapter 36 – A Family Christmas Eve As Dad was driving us back to the house after we’d finished eating supper, my mom made a comment. “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. Three packages arrived for you at different times over the past week. I’ll get them for you when we get home.” “They’re Devin’s Christmas presents. I couldn’t find what I wanted while we were shopping in the stores, so I ordered them online. I’ll show them to you as I’m opening the packages.” “I’m sure th

  9. Some famous philosophers were misanthropes, such as Thomas Hobbes, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Arthur Schopenhauer. Howard Hughes was also a misanthrope. In literature, Ebeneezer Scrooge was also a misanthrope, at least until he was visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future. Although a brilliant detective in literature, Sherlock Holmes was also a misanthrope.
  10. An overconfidence, self-satisfaction, or smugness that is bred from success and makes us unaware of potential dangers or threats, which is what is meant by complacency behavior.
  11. Complacency is driving home from work, or to work, and not being able to remember anything about the drive. Going to and from the same place numerous times tends to make you complacent and you get there an autopilot.
  12. Are pathologists pathological?
  13. Probably? You should change that to definitely.
  14. I found it interesting to notice the names that WEREN'T on this list. Missing in action were some of the wealthiest people currently living: Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch family (Lachlan, James, Elisabeth, and Prudence) members of the Walton Family (Jim, Rob, and Alice), Jacqueline and John Mars (Mars candy), Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt (Google), and Jan Koum (WhatsApp) - to name a few of the Top 50 from the Forbes Top 400 Listing. They may be benevolent, but I would have thought more of them would have been in the 20 most generous listing or this additional Forbes Listing https://www.forbes.com/top-givers/#3d52b85a66ff. The top four US states with Billionaires is: 1) California, 2) New York, 3) Florida, and 4) Texas - no surprises there!
  15. King Henry VIII wasn't known for his benevolence, especially with people who opposed his will or stood in his way, including his wives.
  16. Some early benevolent societies in the US were The New York Orphan Asylum, The Free Creoles of Color (or Afro Creoles), as well as other groups geared toward Afro-Americans, especially after the ending of slavery. More recent benevolent societies would include The Red Cross and The Lion's Club.
  17. The word benevolence come from the Latin word benevolentia, meaning a favorable disposition or good will toward others. The word's roots can be traced back to the Latin words bene (good) and velle (to wish). The first use of benevolent was between 1425-1475, the Late Middle English period.
  18. Synonyms for condonation are absolution, amnesty, forgiveness, pardon, excuse, and remission.
  19. The word "condonation" comes from the Latin word condōnātiōn-em and has been used in English since the early 1600s. The word "condone" comes from the Latin verb condonare, which is a combination of the prefix con- and the word donare.
  20. Condonation appears to be an antonym or opposite of condemnation. Unfortunately, it seems to imply that an action or action is being condoned, which would mean it is being accepted, but it is merely being overlooked or ignored, without the action or offense being condoned or accepted.

Either that or when Devin transitions back he can restore his entire body.

    Chapter 35 S2

Asking for help and getting a firm and reliable commitment are two different things, so hopefully this will work out. Maybe Gramps will have to volunteer to be Santa every year to get someone, or a group, such as a fraternity or sorority to pick up the gauntlet and run with it. 🎅

Hmmm, I don't remember asking for either.

That's true, but if Mac saw that happening he'd probably have Bear neutered, if Preston didn't already have Bailey spayed.

Ah, the benefits of having an imaginary friend.
