    I guess you can hope, but who knows what I might do. How would Mac react if Devin was an invalid? Did he go through all of that training to become a good skinwalker and then lose Devin? How would Mac react? Just wondering here, not saying it's what's going to happen.

    A person could be an inveterate reader, and I don't think any of us here would look at that as being a negative characteristic. They might also be an inveterate coin or stamp collector. Or an inveterate TV watcher (I believe this one may depend on your point of view if it's a negative quality).

    Yes, that's another concern. Will what happen to Devin conflict with his ability to transition in the future. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    It might have just been an oversight on their part, or possibly it happens so infrequently that it just never came up. I don't think we can speak with an certainty on this matter, at least not yet.

    Yes, they'd need to be conscious to shift, but would they be able to maintain the shift once they're knocked unconscious. And that would be interesting if they could shift when they were semi-unconscious, like if they were having a bad dream.

    Not only ID, but he'd also need the information he's lacking, such as about insurance, and I think that would be enough to foil the ruse.

    I don't think Mac has thought about that yet, but even if Mac had transitioned to look like Aaron, he wouldn't have the information the hospital is asking for, and I don't think the impersonation would work.

    Thanks, Paladin. I don't believe anyone was thinking about the ring, since only Mac has one. Yes, the question of whether they'd maintain their form if knocked unconscious would put us in the realm of undiscovered issues, so let's hope it never happens.

    No, I don't think that question has come up. We know they lose the ability of maintaining the shift if they're killed, but we have no idea want happens if they're knocked out. Maybe it's a good thing that Devin hadn't transitioned.

    Yes, being unconscious means there's definitely a concussion involved, so now we'll just have to wait and see what the doctors have to say - when they'll finally fill Mac in. I don't think Mac has Devin's parents on his contact list, only Devin, so he'll probably need Devin's phone. I'm not sure how he'll get it, or if that might have been damaged as well, but we'll soon find out. I hope he has a way to contact them, because they'll need to know and the hospital will need to get info from them as well. Is this exciting enough for you guys now, since you'd been complaining not much was happening? Is this an example of be careful what you wish forf?

    Yes, the boys were definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time. They thought they'd have a little fun and it turned out not to be the case. Yes, it will definitely be frustrating for Mac. Since he's only the fiance, they're not actually related, and the hospital will only give news to close relatives. I'm sure he'll be very frustrated about that. Yes, it was a good thing Preston and Bailey weren't at the dog park, but I imagine Preston was afraid that Bailey would get swallowed up in a snow drift, since she's so small. But you are correct, and I'm sure the dog park will elicit bad memories in the future - at least for a while.

    Yes, I think we're all hoping for the same. As I said to someone else, you've all been saying not much was happening lately - what you didn't realize was that it was just the calm before the storm. Now we'll wait to see what happens next.

    Yes, we'll soon find out how serious Devin's injuries are. It was a freak accident, but will it lead to other issues. We'll soon find out.

    not that nerdy, but we'll soon find out if there's anything different about Devin's body or if there's anything the doctors might be able to detect. It doesn't sound as if this is going to be a problem that goes away soon.
