  1. KodeOwl, I'm glad to see that you made it all of the way to the end and enjoyed the ride. I think you meant Josh, not Bill, but I have been accused of being the Josh character. I know you are interested in what may happen next, but at this point in time I'm not sure there will be another book. If you look at the dwindling numbers from book 1 until the end, I have a feeling most are tiring of this exhaustive tale. I'm glad you seemed to like it though.
  2. There certainly have been a bunch of surprises and upsets so far. What about Missy Franklin? Glad to see the Brits get the Bronze in Men's gymnastic, but I feel for the US team. I thought the Men's Synchronized Diving was pretty amazing too. Congrats to all of the medal winners so far.
  3. Exactly what world did you leave James?
  4. KodeOwl, I'm glad you enjoyed Josh's attack on the bigot, but I must admit that your example didn't cross my mind. It is an excellent point, but just one that I didn't think of. Thanks for sharing that.
  5. Louis, and those are only the gay Olympians that are out! How many are still in the closet, because of the stigma of gays in sports? And they think all gays are wimps. HA!
  6. There has been a thread on this Series, but maybe a new thread for a new season is appropriate. Walter keeps getting darker and darker, and we've watched his transition from a mild mannered chemistry teacher to a bad ass would be drug lord. It's interesting watching how the new relationships going to play out. Will Jesse continue to stand up for Walter? Will Walter continue being equal partner's with Jesse? Will Mike prove to be a thorn in this new arrangement? Hank's boss was kicking himself for allowing Gus to operate right under his noise and interacting with him socially, so what does that mean for Hank and Walter's relationship? They're brother-in-laws now, but if Skyler and Walter split, how will that change the dynamics? This season has already brought up a lot of questions, but will this season end as dramatically and the previous season? What suspenseful ending will this season have that can top what happened to Gus? This is a good series, but be careful calling it the best series ever. You have a large Walking Dead fan base here as well and that show hasn't be a slouch either.
  7. Welcome, Andrea. It's always nice to see a new face and you'll find plenty of great people here. Enjoy yourself while perusing the GA library.

I'll admit, I've been here almost since the beginning and was grateful this site opened, after the prior one I was associated with ran into some nasty issues. I'm very grateful for Myr, Steph and all of the others who have helped me along the way. I realize I'm not the world's greatest author and will probably never get anything published, but I've enjoyed doing this and am grateful when others find some level of satisfaction from reading the stories I've posted. Things have changed a lot, as people come and go, and it will always be that way, but hopefully Gay Authors will always be here for those who need, and maybe even depend, on this site.

    Chapter 1

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Discovery. It was late Halloween night and Deputy Anderson was making his final run along some of the country roads to make sure none of the kids were still out raising a little hell. He was on his final leg of this tour before heading back into town, when he spotted a young man staggering along the side of the road. Anderson wasn’t sure if the guy was drunk or hurt, until he noticed the dried blood in his hair and the blood stains on the back of his shirt. He turne
  10. Deputy Anderson is out patrolling the back country roads on Halloween, to make sure the kids have aren’t still out raising hell. That’s when he happens upon a badly beaten Randy Hoover. Who did this and will Randy be ok or not?
  11. I loved the throwback feel and history lesson in the opening ceremony. I also thought it was appropriate that during the section on the Industrial Revolution that they had the large smokestacks spewing smoke, because with the recent push to use more coal again, I think that's an excellent reminder that we can't do that without appropriate polution regulations. Having grown up in a house that had a coal furnace, most people don't realize the amount of coal dust involved or the amount of soot produced as a result of the combustion process. When I was in the UK in the 1970's, the were spending millions of pounds and it took a number of years to sandblast away the decades of pollution cause by burning coal and other soot producing fuels, which had coated many of their historic buildings and national treasures and made them much less attractive. I also enjoyed the children's dream sequence, where they envision the villains from many of the popular works of British literature, but then they were all dispelled by the appearance of Mary Poppins. I also enjoyed the musical stroll down memory lane. I thought it was a real hoot when they made it appear as if the Queen and James Bond had parachuted into the stadium. I also thought it was appropriate that the had Bradley Wiggins open with the ringing of the bell and then closed with David Beckham carrying the Olympic torch on the boat, passing it to Steve Redgrave who carried it into the stadium, passed it off to the next generation of athletes and then the lighting two hundred brass torches that combined into the Olympic flame. I thought the entire event was wonderfully and tastefully donw. Nice job Brits.
  12. Happy Birthday, Steve. Party hardy.
  13. The Shadow knows how to have a great birthday. Happy Birthday!
  14. If dreams like that mean something, I'm really in trouble, because I've had dreams about people I haven't seen in years and some are no longer around. If your dream had meaning, does that mean I'm attracted to a corpse? Just write it off, like I do. At least you have someone to help you - but maybe your dream means he should be helping you even more. lol
  15. Happy Birthday, James, and I'm glad to see you got the copy of my newspaper.
  16. Happy Birthday, Anyta! I hope it's a great one.
  17. Happy Birthday! I hope it's a great one.
  18. I think those went out of style in the late nineteeth or early twentieh centuries. lol Even pajamas seem rare in adult males any more. I think most sleep in underwear or nude.
  19. I've been attracted to various combinations, but I will admit that I have an affinity for the least common shades of eye color. For seem reason, I am fascinated by those shade that are unusually brilliant or rare.
  20. Happy Birthday, Kilite. May a cool and refreshing breeze blow up your kilt. Many happy returns.
  21. Maybe if he'd won it a few times, but one win does not greatness make. I'm fairly certain there must be some other significant sport moments in the UK (football, tennis, golf, yachting, swimming, gymnastics or even cricket) that must be rank above this. If not, I feel sorry for you British sport fans. lol

    Chapter 1

Thanks, I'm glad you found it informative, as well as interesting. I know it's not all inclusive, but hopefully it will give those wondering a brief background on famous gay and bisexual personalities, as well as some societies where it waas deemed acceptable.
  23. You mean grass isn't supposed to be brown? You certainly won't find much corn as high as an elephant's eye this year, but the food prices might get there. With the grains in short supply, the animals aren't getting the same amount of feed, so they aren't growing and will be sold off early. Then there will be a shortage of meat, and don't forget the milk. Cows need to drink lots of water to produce large quantities of milk. I wonder how long this is going to last?

    Chapter 1

Yes, I had to pick and choose a little when we came to some of the categories. I thought about Ellen and Rosie, but seeing they are mostly known as talk show hosts any more, I didn't know where exactly to include them. The gays in concentration camps wore pink triangles, where the Jews wore yellow stars of David. I'm sure there were other insignias to indicate the other groups as well. I'm glad you enjoyed this and found it somewhat informative, if not totally inclusive.

    Golf

I like Mickelson, but there are some young guns out there that may end up showing up their elders. Sure, I mention Phil Mickelso and he's way, way, WAY back in the pack. I'm not even sure he can see the leaders with binoculars. lol
