Hayden, take care of yourself first. It would probably be good to focus on your coursework and paper, because it will help take your mind off of sports for now. Tell the guy in your room that he owes you a few bucks rental, so you can get some food. Hell, have him go get it for you. If there's anything we can do to help, just PM one of us. Best of luck.
  3. Happy Birthday, KC and I certainly hope it's a great one. All the best to you.
  4. It's never easy when you go through something like this, which I've had to do many time - first with my grandparents, then my in-laws, mother and maternal aunt. I also went through it with 18 and 32-year old cousins who had cystic fibrosis, which is even more difficult to deal with because of their younger age. Although you hate to lose them, you also don't want to see them suffer, which places you in a quandry. I wish there were something I could say to make this easier, but as far as I know, those words do not exist. My thoughts and prayers will be with you throughout this time and feel free to PM me, if you think it might help.
  5. To all of the brave souls who lost their lives fighting for freedom, as well as those who were fortunate to survive and return home. We know that none of these warriors came back the same as when they left, because war takes a mental, as well as physical toll. Some return with problems that linger well beyond their time on the battlefield, so besides honoring their service, let's do more to take care of those who have given so much on our behalf.
  6. When the lion lays down with the lamb, or a dog befriends a cheetah. Can humans emulate that example?
  7. Until the day you lose nearly everything, either due to accident or a freak occurrence, you may not be able to appreciate such a simple and poignant wish.
  8. Happy Birthday, Nephy. I hope it's a great one and the first of many more.
  9. CJ has made a lot of great points, but here's one he missed. Getting feedback also allows you to see what portion of the audience you're appealing to. Is it the younger crowd, the older readers, those in the middle or is it a mixture? Knowing your audience can help you either gear more toward that group or possibly lead you to find way to attract some of the other groups as well. You can't do that without feedback.
  10. Your father was a wise man. As one who is entered the winter of his life, I can only urge the rest of you not to waste the spring, summer and fall of your loves, because the winter arrives much too quickly. At this point, I hope my winter is followed by another spring, although if it happens it will take place on another plain of existence.
  11. Yes, the Giants - Steeler game was poorly played, so you should watch the Falcons - they've been playing well.
  12. Hey, I'm just as willing to talk about UGA or the Falcons. lol
  13. Congrats. I'm happy for you. You're one of the lucky few.
  14. Happy Birthday, Lacey. Hope it's a great one.
  15. Happy Birthday, Mark. I hope it was a great one.
  16. Joanne, my heart goes out to you. Your parents definitely set a good example.
  17. Maybe the next time Detroit gets in the series (if it happens) they'll remember to bring their bats.
  18. Detroit definitely has their backs up against the wall. Two more games at home and then they go back to SF for the final 2, if they Giants haven't wrapped it up by then. Tough spot for Detroit.
  19. Emoe has been a big help and a valuable asset. I hope he continues his work for many years to come.
  20. I found this to be an interesting article and I wondered if their observations about creative genius might have implications for those of us who post our stories here. IMHO, it's worth taking a look. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-j-ross-md/author-maladies-_b_1989313.html?utm_hp_ref=books

    Did I pass?
  22. History favors the Giants, in that the team having the long layoff before the WS generally loses. Let's see if that trend holds up.
  23. I'm not sure what you were referring to by your first black mark, but both I and my editor missed the typo on leper.
  24. It's an oldie and has been done by multiple artists, but "I Love How You Love Me."
  25. Happy Birthday. Hope it's a great one!
