    Like many others, I had never heard of flarf poetry and had to research the term. One thing I didn't have to look up, however, was the feelings that your poem evoked. The sadness, loneliness and even a touch of desperation were fairly evident. A touching entry. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks, RJ, and I did have fun writing this story. This dialect was just a positive side-effect of my moving to the south several years ago and it's fun to try to represent the drawl I often hear still used in the area.

    Thank you, Percy, and I did want them to seem like two hard-working, decent fellows who fell on some bad luck. I think we all wish we could find something like that, maybe it's the reason stories of pirate treasure are so intriguing as well.

    Thanks, Michael, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Maybe it was a bit of wishful thinking on my part, because I could stand a discovery like that to improve my own situation.

    LJH, I'm glad you liked this story and found it interesting. I'm certain they will stop arguing now and possibly even try to start their family. As far as sharing, I'm certain they'll find uses for the money, especially if children are involved.

    Thanks, lilansui, I'm glad you enjoyed this little tale. Before you go digging up your yard, however, think of other ways you might accomplish the same thing without making a mess.

    Wayne, it worked out well that this Anthology was posted so close to St. Patrick's day, because it played into my theme. I wonder how much treasure might be hidden down here - maybe I'll have to get a metal detector and start looking. hehehe

    Joanne, I'm glad you enjoyed this story and found it uplifting. As far as the dialect, I guess my time living in the south has not been in vain and helped me with this aspect of the story.

    Wayne, very nicely done. I didn't think sex change, but when you kept saying how she looked familiar I figured she might be Teddy's mother or another close female relative. I think the twist that surprised me is how Mary sent the other ticket to Teddy, by figuring the mail would be forwarded to his current address. I'm glad things worked out for them.

    I moved to Georgia after taking a job with a large construction company that had offices in Atlanta, Augusta and Macon.     My absolute favorite was APBA Baseball, where you got to pick your favorite professional team and then make your own line up using any all-star that had played on the team - ever. You could call situations, like hit and run, bunt, steal, and the outcome was determined by a roll of the dice, using the player's lifetime stats. It was great. I also enjoyed the games Life, Stratego, Clue and Trivial Pursuit.
