  1. Thanks for the feedback, KC, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree, some properties do seem to have a 'will' of their own. I hate to say this, but one house I was very familiar with seemed to have a negative energy, in that everyone who owned it went backrupt within ten years of purchasing the propertyand this went back over one hundred years. As far as the relationship, I didn't go into more detail because I'm often told I get too involved and too words, so seeing this was a short story, I stuck to the plot line instead.
  2. Thanks, Slytherin. It's amazing what a few old treasure can bring in. I was surprised myself when I researched the value of some old coins, but I've seen news reports where people found treasure like that in garage sales or in Good Will stores, although those usually were in art.
  3. Like many others, I had never heard of flarf poetry and had to research the term. One thing I didn't have to look up, however, was the feelings that your poem evoked. The sadness, loneliness and even a touch of desperation were fairly evident. A touching entry. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Thanks, RJ, and I did have fun writing this story. This dialect was just a positive side-effect of my moving to the south several years ago and it's fun to try to represent the drawl I often hear still used in the area.
  5. Thank you, Percy, and I did want them to seem like two hard-working, decent fellows who fell on some bad luck. I think we all wish we could find something like that, maybe it's the reason stories of pirate treasure are so intriguing as well.
  6. Thanks, Dolores, and I'm glad you found this story interesting. Just don't go out and start digging up your enighbors' properties or the public park. lol
  7. Thanks, Michael, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Maybe it was a bit of wishful thinking on my part, because I could stand a discovery like that to improve my own situation.
  8. LJH, I'm glad you liked this story and found it interesting. I'm certain they will stop arguing now and possibly even try to start their family. As far as sharing, I'm certain they'll find uses for the money, especially if children are involved.
  9. Thanks, lilansui, I'm glad you enjoyed this little tale. Before you go digging up your yard, however, think of other ways you might accomplish the same thing without making a mess.
  10. Wayne, it worked out well that this Anthology was posted so close to St. Patrick's day, because it played into my theme. I wonder how much treasure might be hidden down here - maybe I'll have to get a metal detector and start looking. hehehe
  11. Joanne, I'm glad you enjoyed this story and found it uplifting. As far as the dialect, I guess my time living in the south has not been in vain and helped me with this aspect of the story.
  12. Wayne, very nicely done. I didn't think sex change, but when you kept saying how she looked familiar I figured she might be Teddy's mother or another close female relative. I think the twist that surprised me is how Mary sent the other ticket to Teddy, by figuring the mail would be forwarded to his current address. I'm glad things worked out for them.
  13. Here is the link for my 2013 Spring Anthology entry. I hope you enjoy it. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/bill-w/attheendoftherainbow
  14. Happy Birthday B1ue. Hope it's a great one.
  15. My question is, haven't they checked to see if both sets of twins have the same father? lol
  16. Happy Birthday, Curti. Isn't it wonderful getting older.
  17. Justin Doyle moved to Georgia to find a job, but it’s also where he met his partner, Andrew Livingston. They were doing well until a recession gripped the country and the situation turned bleak, but then a stormy night turned into one they’ll never forget.
  18. I moved to Georgia after taking a job with a large construction company that had offices in Atlanta, Augusta and Macon. Since it was possible that I could be assigned to work out of any of those offices at any given time, I decided to try to find a place to live where my commute would be approximately the same, no matter which location I was working out of at the time. With that in mind, I started driving around until I spotted a perfect piece of property that was located near the center of th
  19. My absolute favorite was APBA Baseball, where you got to pick your favorite professional team and then make your own line up using any all-star that had played on the team - ever. You could call situations, like hit and run, bunt, steal, and the outcome was determined by a roll of the dice, using the player's lifetime stats. It was great. I also enjoyed the games Life, Stratego, Clue and Trivial Pursuit.
  20. I found this posted recently on a reliable news site, so I figured it was a current and not outdated story. I still believe that.

  22. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/01/28/16739587-exclusive-boy-scouts-close-to-ending-ban-on-gay-members-leaders?lite Has the financial pressure, with sponsors pulling out because of this policy, enough to get the Boy Scouts leadership to change? Only time will tell, but this is a positive signal.
  23. Happy Birthday, Jim. I hope it was a great one.
  24. Alex, have you thought about trying cross-country skiing or going to the gym to play basketball, jog or just workout? If not, you may consider some of those things.
  25. Happy Birthday Riley. Sorry I was a little slow getting this in.
