Act III - A Whole New World
Darryl62 commented on Jack Poignet's story chapter in Act III - A Whole New World
Well @Jack Poignet, tricky, tricky, tricky... I'm now so invested here. At least 4 ten thousand word chapters I reckon... -
Act III - Anything Goes
Darryl62 commented on Jack Poignet's story chapter in Act III - Anything Goes
Neither the Shifters nor the Witches have any real power left between them, both drained by their own hubris while the Vampires nibbled at both, hoarding their strength and powers. Will the Shifters bring the old ones with them? Do the Witches have a hidden card to play? We still no nothing about Timmy and his transformation and what of Ariadne? So many questions...! Thanks @Jack Poignet -
I'm thinking that in the past, Big was in a situation where someone died, injured or raped and Curtis made it all disappear But he left details with the lawyers to ensure Big did what he wanted. Will the Schluter family care enough (no) will Travis care enough (no) and certainly Miranda and Taylor dont have enough influence to make a difference. Big is going down...

Totally awesome chapter, meeting two phantoms! And the other Snow as well, almost a friend. The classroom lessons seem to be not so much as helpful to Richter but more a lesson to the other students. The Border Collie is very very creepy, its the unexpected appearance and his conversation, I expect him to attack almost every time he appears. Wonderfully complex story, thank you 💖

I was also musing, what if our boy is mentality attuned to Cerberus? After all, only around 10% of our brain matter is used by most people and all that available functionality since birth... . Is Josh like a biological control? Gives emotional context to the circuitry? Leading to better guesses? Faster more intuitive responses? A prototype that is much more than expected as data flows in both directions? Josh is Cerberus and Cerberus is installed in the brain of Josh. Also, I'd like his love interest to be a quite boy with a cleft palette and a stammer who is on a scholarship . Thinks he nothing special and hides from the bullys lead obviously by Reed the IV..

The Sharp Edge of Elegance
Darryl62 commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in The Sharp Edge of Elegance
Im so with you in this, it would be a disservice to the story to have such a sad, obvious outcome. Personally, I am looking forward to IV being in a fight, serious injury, ( but saved by our fighting machine during the fight leading to more questions about his abilities) then IV sadly pssing away from his injuries... @Jeff Burton, huge expectations here... -
Waiting like a 18th century debutante... bated breath and heaving bosom...

When Josh says "Walter " are we sure it wasn't a question? Is it the same Walter from before? Is this a herring?

Between Shadows and Light
Darryl62 commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Between Shadows and Light
I was wondering about an implant in Josh head at first, then I thought an MRI would totally kill him and that idea, then I wondered if a plastic implant... plastic chips? Buried deeply in his brain so that the minimum metal on the chip wouldn't show up.. but then activation? Brain waves? Two voices in his head other than his own.. is one of then a guard on the other more malevolent killing machine? Late here in Australia, 12.30 on a Thursday night you evil genius, bed now... -
Its meant as a compliment, very James Patterson and his FBI agent Alex Cross, there was also a Kincaid in one of his stories as well. Most delicious story!

Heres a diagnosis for you that I've been given... "Neuro linguistic Aphasia " Terrible thing, words fail to appear in your mind and mouth. Just blanks and you have to talk around the missing snippet, seems

I have no medical experience, but I've been so ill that I have received the Last Rites, cancer so bad they thought it was the end, a head injury that I still have memory loss from 5 years later. Its all very real to me, especially the weighed tiredness and the brain that refuses to function or even acknowledge existence. You seem to be writing my lived experiences and that is ...scary, awesome and slightly unnerving. 😎 Thanks 😊 🫂

Secret Author Contest "Reveal the Secret" - Guess the Author
Darryl62 replied to Cia's topic in Forum Games and Humor
Your all very clever, really! I'd read one and think @northie, then another and go... maybe this one. Then another and oh! @Mark Arbour, but 2 later.. hummm. And so it goes. Will wait for the results and see if I can pick you all @Topher Lydon, your very difficult to pin down!! -
Our devious author makes one suspect anyone who has quietly slipped off the radar. Miranda might be desperate enough, where has she been while her children are kidnapped, accidents happening almost weekly.. no hospital visits... my Miss Marple nose is scrunching up..
-
I think Miranda ( Travis mother?) Is in cahoots with another for more money now that Curtis isn't around as a wallet. Still thinking either an unknown man, or better yet.. one of Wade or Matts families ( going with Wades family on probabilities)

As a person who lived through the madness of Thatcher, it all makes perfect sense the children's names. And the final lines? What a hoot! Thanks 😊 🫂

I had the same thought, brother " no longer with us ", as in overseas andnot the UK? Worded vaguely enough to have multiple options

Oh, Finley has found the home for his horde, and it seems that the house likes him back. He senses that the air and vibrations are right for him and Emmetts "... I can be myself here" just validated Finleys resolve. Really lovely warm chapter, thank you 😊

Interesting comments on a story that I acknowledge could be seem as intimidating or even creepy. it was a momentous interlude in a persons life that resonated with me. Morris was wrong, no doubt but he helped a young man to crystallise his own inner turmoil. This story didn't bother me at all. Effect was not abhorrence, more like both parties gained. Wonderful work and left the audience wondering where it was leading

Interesting comments on a story that I acknowledge is different. From Lucas viewpoint ( which I remember from my own younger years in country New Zealand) it was a momentous interlude. Morris was wrong, no doubt but he helped a young man to crystallise his own inner turmoil. I, at 15 deliberately seduced 2 friends of my parents who were drunk they were early 30s and like Lucas, i pushed past my fears and reached for what I wanted ( late 70s folks). This story didn't bother me at all, only awakened lovely memories. Effect was not abhorrence, more like both parties gained. Lucas was not touched, led to understanding, but the photographs..ah well, very wrong.

I'm in Newtown and Young Henry's brewery is literally walking distance from our apartment. They do 100 ml tasting glasses, perfect on a sunny day, 6 small glasses of various styles for about 15 dollars 👌 😀

I had to google what a "double IPA " actually was. We here ( in the other real world) can buy it, but we have so many of our own craft beers here in Sydney , why bother with yours?? Hahaha 😆

Oh, yes, Jack is indeed that stupid, and would be caught out by Claire at the table him making eye attention to Amber... hahaha

I can see Amber being dismissed from Travis care and a more professional replacement being sought, but not before both Taylor and Marie both give vicious verbal blows to all the idiotic boys (including Jack here) for their hormonal rampage and letting JP and Stef know that she has being making waves in the household. Im surprised that Will hasn't warned her to calm down on her playing and that she is a guest, not the entertainment.

Act III - It's The Hard-Knock Life
Darryl62 commented on Jack Poignet's story chapter in Act III - It's The Hard-Knock Life
so.... the Queen was drawing upon her own people for power after the death of the Shifter King (did he really die though?) Clearly she only has concerns for herself and possibly her daughter, who is playing her own long term strategy. The shifters appear stronger than the witches but are they strong enough to overcome the Vampires? where for art thou Gabriel? Where have they hidden you...
