Again things and time pass quickly, in NYC for this extremely happy couple, but our author drops the feeling of dread in his last line of the chapter! ☹️

Nope nothing within the range of normal is going on here. They were wise not to trust "the lady in black". My question was why this group was selected by the Gods for this quest? It certainly seem this was all preordained. Why the four of them, and what could be the overall purpose of this dangerous quest? 🤔 As the lady in black, I'm burning to find out the answers. 😊

The new couple have left the isolation of rural Wyoming and are now back in the spotlight and whirlwind of the NYC environment. Will their relationship grow stronger or suffer from all the new variables that the city may thrust at them? I would hope they are able to thrive and grow stronger under the pressures the "Big Apple" may throw their way. Is a HEA possible in their future? 🤔

I think they are stalling, waiting for Indiana Jones or Thor, god of thunder to make their appearance known, They had plenty of desert area to discuss what is happening, away from unwanted listeners. They also are gaining many items to keep safe. I believe that they would and should discuss the current events among themselves, even if the "lady in black" had predicted these events but they also did not trust her, at the time.

Yet again, we are being kept in the dark about what is actually going on about their visit and mission. No discussions about the small statue, the glowing Ra protection rings, and the voices directing their actions on this mission of discovery. Omar is reveling his intentions while Kareem remains a bit of an unknown force. 🤔 What is truly taking place here?

I too had read and followed this story years ago, and agree with @CincyKris's opinion, fantastic. I use to wait months for the your next chapter'. I am glad to see you brought it to GA, and hopefully there won't be any long waits between chapters,, as when you were first writing the story. Are you still planning to add more chapters to your "Lukus" story? Which is another great read, that you brought to us on GA. Your writing is special.

Many old friends and two new friends join with the gang on this adventure after unusual discoveries are made with experiments testing possible new magic (skwish) powers. Spooky characters, scary powers, and fierce battles are in store for the readers, along with their usual humor, shared knowledge, mutual respect, love of adventure, and of each other, that these stories are well known for. Can this group save our world and many more from possible extinction? The answer may surprise you. Another 5-star, highly recommended tale from @Geron Kees! -

What struck me about this chapter was the different levels of details within it, The many details of the ship shows the great luxury of their travels and amazing first class comforts of their travels for the time period of the story. The lack of details and discussion about the occurrence of the nights attack, keeps us in the dark. about the forces against them. Alex's knowledge and quick discovery of the second scarab, is also cloaked in its lack of discussion and details. For me, it was a very mysterious chapter, which most likely was its purpose. 😄

Who but Geron, Casper, and the gang, would have thought that a simple modified game of Norpita, could be the way to solve the popper population problem? I am always impressed by the thoughts, humor, and fun that populate the pages of a Charlie Boone adventure, and consistently enjoy my time spent with our gang. Well done, yes again, to our beloved storyteller @Geron Kees.

With no cell phone access and the technology of today? Not likely. Maybe they should both return to the "Big Apple" together? When will Michael connect with his boss? Only time, and our tight-lipped author knows that answer. So we will have to wait. I'm expecting a noncommittal GIF for his reply 😃

Apparently this story is far from over, also. I would like to hear more about this memory and amulet, Curses legends of Ra, and myths; which will play a part in their continued adventures? All and more, is my guess, Well done @Albert1434. Looking forward as our band of four, now bonded characters, continue their "equally invested" quest. 🛳️ Next they will continue up river to the prearranged supplies and the starting point of their quest. Will watching eyes be on the sailing craft with them? 🫥

After my sleep on the matter, I have to mostly agree with the above with the possible addition of Will to the list. We have to add new powers and insights to Charlies group as we move onto future adventures. I also think that Geron's sleeves have plenty of room for more surprises! 😎

My northeast Ohio city has not yet experienced a frost. I am still picking cherry tomatoes, and my tropical, annual, and perennial plants are still blooming well. We had a wet spring and a dry fall with Tuesday being a record high also. Southern Ohio has been getting more weather problems from the jet streams than us, for the last few years. Wild and unusual here also.

Dare I mention climate change? Weather disasters are increasing worldwide. My retirement dreams of spending winters in Florida, like my parents, grandparents, and brother enjoyed, are now a scary thought. 🤔 I had changed my thinking to possibly moving to the Carolina's, scratch that also. A recent realtor's survey declared my Ohio city this safest city in the USA from weather disasters. Our winters have been very mild for the last decade, but that too could change quickly by mother nature. I wish safety for all and decided to just stay put.

If the popper can create copies, what would stop him from doing that again? I agree with Max. I think that I will sleep on that also.

Get your rest Geron. I also could use more rest because I have stayed up too late many times in the last week, in order to read your excellent tale. I have had much bigger disappointments tonight anyway, I feel like I will need about 4 years of sweet dreams now.

It appears the group enjoyed a typical tourist day out. What stood out for me, was the purchase of the"Ra protection rings''. They may come into play as our adventure continues? The big reveal was the appearance of the map that the scarab produced. A starting point for their future adventures. The fact that they were being followed, adds to the excitement of the mystery, and the wisdom of having Omar and Kareem looking out for their safety. Another well done and possible foretelling chapter.
