People struggled to pay much higher mortgate payments after 5 years or defaulted on their mortgages and left just assuming they paid rent for 5 years. They had no skin in the game--no down payment and no equity to lose

I do think you can develop a new story or two from these characers I do like HEA stories, but they are best fairy tale like in my opinion , and such a simple ending leading us to dream is expected. The author Laura Fox usually has HEA ending stories after lots of challenges and mysteries. . I enjoy reading on the Harry Potter Fan Fiction site which contains many, many variants of the HP story
