Tim's family might like Guy as Tim's friend but how are they going to like him as Tim's boyfriend. Although I expect only Tim's dad will be a problem. Guy is much better off with his mum liking Tim and being more gay accepting. Ben and Sam have some real sorting out to do. A great chapter @Mark Ponyboy Peters showing the underlying love that the couples have for each other. Next chapter please.

sycophant - Word of the Day - Thu Aug 15, 2024

And not to be confused with the world renowned Australian scientist Sir Mark Oliphant. He was one of the world's early nuclear scientists and was a leader in the development of radar. He also made a significant contribution to the Manhattan Project. -
recondite - Word of the Day - Wed Aug 14, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Thanks for this @sandrewn; "It's rather difficult to penetrate the meaning of recondite. Fitting, because it's an adjective that basically means hard for the average mind to understand". That helps explain the point I was making in saying recondite is an autological word. An autological word is a word that describes itself, as recondite does. There we have a third associated, and possibly new, word. Enjoy. -
Thursday Thrashing, and Friday Fun
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Thursday Thrashing, and Friday Fun
Brendan and the three kids are definitely blending as a family. Greg's work closing down is complication. It's not as if Brendan has to choose between Greg and the kids. If he was he'd obviously choose the kids. Greg and Brendan seem to be a good fit for each other (that way too) and Greg could be the support Brendan will need raising three children. I hope they can sort something out. Steve, Lanny and Jill are an interesting combination. I'm sure we'll see more of them. Nick, Jill and Steve are about to tell the authorities what happened to them in preparation for trial. We always hope justice will prevail but often it's not as straight forward as we had hoped.- 45 comments

recondite - Word of the Day - Wed Aug 14, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Recondite is an autological word in that it describes a feature it has itself. It's like 'English' is an English word, 'short' is a short word and 'polysyllabic' is a polysyllabic word. Weird hey! -
(WARNING - YET ANOTHER INTIMATE ACT) Warning!?!? I don't think so. More an invitation to start reading. Well for me and @Cane23 at least. Wonderfully written as well. Loved the whole chapter.

Even before classes begin the boys are getting themselves organized and meeting some fellow students. Being measured for rings they won't get until the end of College. Hmm, is Devin planning on needing rings before then? I'm confused about swapping drivers on the way back to the house from the dog park. Why? They don't do it on the way to the dog park. Devin tossed Mac the car keys at the house for him to drive.

I enjoyed the direction this chapter took. When we first met Ricky, back in Chapter 1, he was hoping to put his fame behind him and blend into NYC as just an 'ordinary guy'. His talent meant that was not going to happen. In this Chapter, Ricky comes to realise that while he is famous and a celebrity in his professional life, he can be ordinary in his personal life and in the love he shares with Joey. Thanks @chris191070.

Settling In, and an Oh No!
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Settling In, and an Oh No!
Steve needs to have some sessions with a Speech Therapist, even though I suspect anxiety is one cause of his stutter. It was so important for Brendan to stress that the children only tell the truth to the prosecutors. I also suspect @weinerdog that Steve and Lanny have an inkling of what 'boyfriend' means.- 49 comments

I'm not really surprised by Tim's father's response at the performance. There are a lot of fathers who judge their sons on the basis of the things that were important to them. Often this is restricted to "manly" things like achievement in sport. If they have limited exposure or interest in the "Arts" they are unlikely to see them as "manly". I put Tim's father in this category and suspect he was unaware of Tim's singing ability. When he sees Tim perform and experiences the audience reaction his response becomes acceptance and to some extent pride. Unfortunately, that change doesn't mean there will be a change in his attitude to gays.

A superb chapter @Mark Ponyboy Peters with a wonderfully loving and heartwarming conclusion. With apologies to a well know writer "The song's the thing wherein I'll catch the loving of my Guy."

A gay wedding run by the 'Momzillas'! What a terrifying thought @drsawzall.

I'm please that you loved it @Ticklishboy30. Possible tickles in a future chapter.

Thanks for your comment @Mancunian. More on how Ollie feels about his mum in the next chapter. Fortunately he now has a great support group to call upon.
-
Thanks @Cane23. Ollie is certainly not going to be without support.
-
More on how Ollie feels about his mother in the next chapter @Al Norris. Ollie did tell the details of the abuse to the police and Elizabeth at the time. The offender's DNA they obtained at the time was key to their prosecution. Chrissie's death removes a significant impediment but doesn't necessarily shorten the timeline.
-
Thanks @chris191070. Ollie will always have his Dads' support and whatever help he needs.
-
I think @Summerabbacat that really means she didn't use hard drugs. Like a lot of young Aussies, she and Dan may have shared the occasional joint. More on Ollie's, and his dads', response to the death in the next chapter.

Wow! And another one bites the dust er lust er sorry, finds love and HEA. Joey and Ricky are good at being gay matchmakers. Joey and Ricky's relationship is surviving Ricky's demanding and erratic work schedule. Ricky is certainly not "another ordinary guy" and it seems to work for them. I'm really enjoying this story.

It seemed we were all awake early on Sunday morning to take Jackson to the airport. While we were eating breakfast Jackson told us, “Thanks for letting me come up here to visit you. I’ve enjoyed it so much. Being with the awesome4some was an absolute blast. Ollie, I loved helping with your surprise birthday party. It was so much fun.” Ollie interrupted, “It sure was. Thanks again for helping organize it.” “You’re welcome champ. I also learnt so much hanging out with Tyron and wor

The family relationships are mind boggling. I need a genealogical tree to get my head around it. I'm sorta with Dad and Mom not being interested past first cousins. It gets complicated very quickly. Anyway they are a big happy loving family. Will the bloodlines make the pendant even more powerful in their fight to remove evil off the property?

Ahhmm, Greg's eyes changed way back when James changed him to a vampire. The vampire nobility as listed earlier leaves out two levels; King and Duke. I agree that in future Greg could fill at least one of those. After all there is a prophesy. Silver eyes are still a mystery. Jake is keeping his eye colour under control because it wasn't mentioned at the dinner, even though attention was drawn to him.

I agree that Guy seems more experienced than Tim and that Tim's inexperience is one of the things stopping him saying the magic three words back to Guy. He has come a long way so far; he has admitted to himself that he is gay; he is comfortable with Ben knowing he is gay; and he has admitted to himself that he loves Guy. Now he has to get himself able to say it to Guy, and then get Guy to listen to him long enough for him to say it. The power of music and song might be just the help that Tim needs.

I'll join the chorus of 'an excellent chapter and I'm wanting the next chapter'. While Greg is revealing some of his 'superpowers' he is, sensible, careful not to disclose all and he is reluctant to disclose the abilities of the members of his council. Marco is interesting and he clearly wants to be a member of Greg's council. What is his role and what part will he play in Greg's future? So far so good at the Prince's Court. Greg is still in favour with George. Hope that extends to the private meeting.

This chapter did warm the winter we are experiencing here. As others have commented they were sensual as well as sexual, which showed them expressing their deep love for each other. Their verbal statements of love were warming but as they say 'actions speak louder than words'. I don't think Kai will be sleeping downstairs anymore, or need a nurse to help in the shower.
