Will Things Ever Be Normal Again?
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Will Things Ever Be Normal Again?
I'm late to this party, but I am impressed with the Thanksgiving party Brendan organized. I'm particularly impressed that he is pulling Rick into the children's family circle. It shows he isn't just using Rick for the financial assistance. I noticed Greg was missing from the guest list. That relationship has certainly moved on. I agree with the other comments. -
A nice place to end. They have finished school, solidified their love for each other and are now on the brink of their life away from home and living together. Let's wish them well as they maintain existing friends and make new ones. Hopefully Thompsonville will be very exciting.

I'd be Mad @drsawzall to reveal too much, other than say "wait and see". Margaret is one of Ollie's strongest supporters.

Thank you @Mancunian for commenting. Yes a small family funeral with people there for a variety of reasons, mostly because they "think they should". As for the rest, keep your fingers crossed.

Oh, I'm still young enough to be familiar with such "filth" as well as a bit of "smut"

You might be surprised @Summerabbacat, how common it is for Australian families with no Italian ancestry to use Nona for one of the grandmothers. As far as I can tell they don't use Nonno for the grandfather. You are correct, Italian spelling is Nonna.

@chris191070 I sure you'll understand when I say "I know nothing".

I understood the reference (I'm old enough) and enjoyed you including a Central Coast location. I don't think Davistown will feel left out.
-
I'm pleased @Summerabbacat that I've given you another villain. Are you suggesting that Debbie could be a lead act at the Doyalson RSL club?
-
Have you been hacking my computer @chris191070? There could be an inheritance if it hasn't all been used to fund drug parties.
-
Good point @Ivor Slipper. If not custody then what?

Do you think that she's caring for Toby and wants to care for Ollie as well? It's a thought.

All will be revealed and initially it may not be what you expect.

mirthful - Word of the Day - Tue Aug 27, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
I think it is hilarious that Myr is gleefully continuing to post this series of amusing words reflecting his cheerfulness and our elated enthusiasm for words. Mirthfully LOL. -
Ollie wanted to attend his mother’s funeral. Elizabeth had used her contacts and was able to provide us with details of where and when the service would take place. Elizabeth and Ronald were concerned about Oliver attending the funeral, but Ollie insisted he wanted to attend. His psychologist agreed, and pointed out that funerals are important in providing closure. Elizabeth and Ronald even considered being there in case there was “an incident”. We assured them that we would OK. Logan and A

Guy and Tim have done well to keep their gay relationship quiet for so long. And they are both deeply in love. It is sad that they cannot be open. I like that they have accepted Jonathan into their group and he seems different. Maybe he now has a chance of getting a boyfriend. Poor Ben is suffering from a combination of love and blue balls. He does need to meet up with Samantha soon. Seriously, Ben is a keeper both as a friend and as a lover. I hope Samantha is also serious. Checking out Southern Star University could be a legitimate excuse for all three to pay a short visit.

Another great chapter. Megan and Adam opening up to each other provided the perfect background for Megan saying "yes", "yes" and "I'm saying yes, you idiot". Callum was surprised but ran to Megan, not away. Nikki taking Arya for a walk. Now that's extended family at its best.

More Tests, More Evidence, and the Trials Begin
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in More Tests, More Evidence, and the Trials Begin
Oh @Summerabbacat, I would prefer fictional characters aren't real but represent typical people and fictional characters don't exist but represent reality.- 73 comments

Harmonizing mantra. Fictional characters aren't real. Fictional characters don't exist. Whole choir sing.- 73 comments

More Tests, More Evidence, and the Trials Begin
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in More Tests, More Evidence, and the Trials Begin
One problem @Summerabbacat with the "Jill was pregnant" theory is that there would have been some physical signs of pregnancy including darkening of her nipples that the doctor would have identified. If there was a backyard abortion during the first trimester (before her nipples would have darkened) it is hard to believe that Jill, who can remember to the number of days since her virginity was taken, would not remember an abortion. If we are looking at the remains of a child, then a sibling is the best bet. While justice systems like to believe that they are "seeker of truth" to punish those who are guilty beyond reasonable doubt, they are too often used to muddy the water and discredit evidence than establish truth. @Lee Wilson has shown us examples.- 73 comments

blissful - Word of the Day - Sat Aug 24, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Of course we can all be blissfully unaware. -
Yes @Bill WI did consider that he might have been a guy planing something sinister, such as robbery and I also considered and suggested he could just be some random guy asking directions. While Pvtguy suggested he could be a skinwalker, I didn't even consider it. Now that he's collected his minimum screen actors guild rate, he's moved on to the next walk on part. We all wish him luck.

I suppose it was too much to expect Guy to continue having a gay friendly family life. And what about anti-gay Kevin's dad? Like father, like son? And on that, is Guy's "stepdad" going to be the one to find them on the floor? Just as uncontrolled hormones led to the drama between them, so the same uncontrolled hormones are encouraging them to not think clearly on the kitchen floor. What a mess!
