What! Just ordinary, not wild ones. Such a pity

Tim might try running away but I don't think Guy will let him get too far. He can run but he can't hide. I think the connection between Tim and Guy is already too strong. I'm sure Ben will do all he can to get them together and stay together. Now Ben needs a gay friendly girlfriend. Teachers' nicknames. Now there's gold mine of examples and stories.

So Ricky took Red's advice about who not to fall in love with and neatly set up Red with Larry. I think that Red is right that Ricky will never be ordinary and disagree with Larry that Ricky will never be husband material. He just needs some time and the right guy; maybe John's eldest son. I like that Ricky is wanting to do what likes to do. Mama might control the money but she's not stingy with it.

I've been wondering about this simple statement, "Instead of returning to my bed, I sat in a chair by the window. I turned to see if anyone was looking in, but no one was." To me this is a clear indication that Phil has turned a corner. He is no longer reminiscing about his past and is now living in the present and looking towards the future. Both the present and future look good for Phil and those around him.

Ah Tommy. Like @Summerabbacat I've only seen the film version and I also love it. I understand that it is on stage on Broadway this year and tours next year.

What's wrong with "cheesy"? The show will be written by high school students to appeal to teenage high school students (and doting parents). I don't think they want something with depth. I love revues and their use of music.

Yes it is used in Magna Carta. I found it used twice and both times it is used to refer to what we would call "tools of trade" for farming. The first use is "all his land, stocked with ploughs and wainage, according as the season of husbandry shall require," The Magna Carta was first issued in 1215 and reissued between then and 1297. There are four original copies of the Magna Carta in the world today. One (1297) is in Australia, another is in USA and two are in the UK.

I love the idea of write your own musical. Not easy but rewarding. The musical might be boy/girl but life for Tim is definitely guy/guy or is that Tim/Guy.

The only ordinary thing about Ricky is his apartment. Having sex and feelings of love for both Larry and Red does not bode well. Both have strong feelings for Ricky and both are helping Ricky with his career, although Red is doing it more for Ricky than Larry, who is very aware of his 10%. Ricky is still learning about sex and love and I don't think he is ready to settle down.

And another word nerd comment. The end of witenagemot became our word "moot" as in "that is a moot point" meaning debatable. -

Really! I expect he would because like those Anglo Saxons and their pronunciation, he died nearly a thousand years ago. -

Like most of Anglo Saxon governance, witenagemots ceased after the Norman invasion of 1066 when they were replaced by the Norman curia regis. -
Another chapter full of fun filled holiday activities including FWB or is that CWB (cousin with benefits) or maybe BOC (blow our cousin) or . . . OK I'll stop.

Touring Ends, Recording Begins
Paladin commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Touring Ends, Recording Begins
A very suitable ending to this heart warming story. Eight albums is commendable and like so many bands Deja Vu faced fading interest and members leaving. Great to see Eric and Kevin stayed together, sensibly managed their finances and accepted the inevitable. Married and living quietly sounds wonderful. -
I have to admit that this "Never more than seven people, though; my dinner table doesn’t seat more than that. Which is deliberate; at least one person comes alone and might turn out to be a new soon-to-be ex." left me a bit confused. A table seating "never more than seven" would at most be Adam and six guests, and that would probably three couples. or at least two people on their own. I assume that Adam means never more than seven guests. However this is a very minor point is an excellent chapter, which has drawn me completely into the story.

widdershins - Word of the Day - Sun Jul 21, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
This definition "widdershins - (adv) - in a direction contrary to the sun’s course; counterclockwise" is obviously a Northern hemisphere definition. Where I am, when I watch the sun move, or appear to move, from East to West it is moving counterclockwise so 'widdershins' would be to move clockwise. -
I am really liking this story and especially Ricky. Of course my mind is full of questions especially about After Ricky signed the contract to record an album, he didn’t see Larry again for several months, but I know better than to ask them. @chris191070 has too many gifs.

This is a love story about two young men. It is also a story about a love: a love that is so intense that it can enlighten, enrich and empower with a strength that overshadows everything else; a love that scares; a love that lasts; a dangerous love. While on a routine summer family holiday to a Greek island, Oliver unexpectedly experiences such a love. This masterful and beautifully written story takes us with him. All I’ll add is that this is one of those stories for your ‘must read’ list.

Turning 40 might be a milestone but for Daryl, celebrating is a time for fun, love and family with, of course, lots of tickles. Read and enjoy.

As a high school student you save a boy from drowning. How do you feel when a few years later he returns having tried to kill himself. Do you have to save him all over again? Read this very Aussie story to find out what Scott does.

A great fortieth birthday. A day filled with family, tickles and fun activities all proving that forty is still young.

wapenshaw - Word of the Day - Sat Jul 20, 2024
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
What is interesting here is that today's word "wapenshaw" links to a previous word of the day, "wapentake". Both use the Old English "wapen" meaning weapon. They also have similar meanings when they refer to a gathering of people from a particular area, with their weapons. Yes "wapenshaw" refers to gatherings in Scotland and "wapentake" refers to gatherings in England. As "wapen" comes from Old Norse "vapn" it is not surprising that it would be used in both Scotland and England. -

Perfectly correct, which is also the connection between wassermann and Aquarius which is Latin for "water carrier". -
A fun filled start to a birthday, with the promise of more fun during the day. Tickling enjoyed by all involved.

Yes I found the same when I started searching. I ended up with more information than I needed to know about the Wasserman group of companies started by the late Lew Wasserman.
