A great chapter @Mark Ponyboy Peters that moves the story on just enough, with just enough intrigue as @Al Norris commented.

More likely a can of worms. Oh wait, they're going fishing so that could be useful.

Making A New Friend & Meeting New Brothers

Another tickle fueled fun chapter. So much love flowing. I'm wanting the relationship between Airen and Raven to blossom. -
"You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby"
Paladin commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby"
Wow, what a chapter. Oliver and Niko fall deeper and deeper into their intense love only to have Oliver's mother's cancer pull them apart. We pick up again 26 years later. The only thing we know about the intervening years is that Oliver is now a sole parent with a son, and Sophia and Jason are still together with their own children. Niko is still Oliver's only true love. What has happened to Niko? Wonderful writing and still more of this story to unfold. -
I'm finding it hard to comment on this chapter. Having worked with adolescents with suicidal ideology I am very aware of the torment and false thinking they go through. I've also had to work with the family and friends of adolescents who have suicided (fortunately not adolescents I worked with). You are right @Mark Ponyboy Peters that the family and friends go through hell after a suicide or serious attempt. Our hearts need to go out to everyone involved.

An excellently written chapter that raises the very real issue of adolescent suicide. It is devastating to think that there are young people who feel that their only solution for their "problem" is to end their life. Justin needs help and help doesn't just come from a shrink.

Yes having visited Perth a few times I'm familiar with the Blue Boat shed which can be seen on the road between Perth and Fremantle. I've seen it while driving past. Like my friends in Perth, I'm a bit bemused by the attention it gets on social media. Lovely pic though.

Again I'm confirming what @Mark Ponyboy Peters has said. I will agree that the use of "poofter" has diminished since the 70's, along with associated terms like "poofter bashing", but it is still in use today. I have worked extensively with adolescents and I can tell you that "poofter" is still part of the high school playground lexicon.
-
A bold claim @Talo Segura. I agree with @Mark Ponyboy Peters that poofter has not disappeared as a derogatory term in Australia. It is, unfortunately, still used. BTW, is your profile pic the Blue Boat shed on the Swan in Perth?

We're at an interesting point in this story. Johnny and Ed love each other. Ed accepts Johnny as a poor writer, even to the extent of living together to save money. Johnny is now to reveal where he grew up and where he really lives. He has survived the true love test. How will he survive the "I've mislead you but this is the real me" test? I'm keen to see the next chapter.

I totally agree and didn't suggest differently.

Valid points @Al Norris. My comment about Scott admitting he's gay was intended to refer to him admitting it to himself. My comment "He saves the boy who saw him kissing Billy" wasn't inferring anything about the actual rescue. It was a statement of fact which the story so far hints will be significant in the future. I agree with you that the family could be holidaying there. After all, it is a holiday area. I haven't read the story before so I'm looking forward to Chapter 2.
-
A fantastic start to this story. Scott admitting he is gay. He saves the boy who saw him kissing Billy. He is identified as the rescuer by a teacher. Justin is grateful but has a homophobic brother who probably goes to the same high school as Scott. Enough there for an amazing story.

Thanks, @chris191070. Yes Ollie has settled in well and they are becoming a family surrounded by extended family.
-
Thanks @Cane23. Hadn't thought about a spa being installed. Smut? Well that's a different story. Yes Chris, in particular, wasn't ready for Jackson moving in and the mass sleepover.
-
Thank you @drsawzall, and I'm sure David and Chris would have liked to have a scotch together. Since they started to foster Ollie, "ordinary things" have changed for A&C. Little did they realize that having one child could lead to having a house full.
-
Thank you for your comments. This chapter did show Beau in a different way. What could go wrong at a birthday party?
-
First up, @Summerabbacat, @Lee Wilson and @drsawzall and your speculation regarding Ollie's mother. All I'll do is follow the lead of @chris191070 and say "I know nothing".

Friday was the last day of term. At school it was a mufti day with fun activities for the students which meant that there was no problem getting Ollie off to school. We received a phone call from Harold and Marjorie. They were of a generation that still liked to use their smart phones to make phone calls rather than send text messages. They asked about William and said how gorgeous he looked on the quilt and insisted the quilt had to be for him. They also said we could keep the other t

No problem @Mark Ponyboy Peters. Even when I use real places I fudge the details of the place to suit my story. Southern Cross University has a campus in Coffs Harbour, which ties in nicely with Mac Harbour.
-
Nah. Just knowing where the rural universities are, some local knowledge and a bit of geography.
-
I was thinking somewhere North of Armidale, like Glenn Innes. I've based this on Luke when not getting a place at SSU adding a comment to the effect that he felt his destiny was "down south" referring to Highlands (UNE).

I was waiting for that Marmalade as well.

A very interesting chapter with comparisons drawn between Susan and her divorce and Eloise and Phil's divorce and the effect on the women. Also a comparison between Phil and Dwight and Colin and Jason and their relationships. I'm interested that Phil now has an adult grandson and a young great grandson. There is the possibility that Phil's adult grandson, Allan, could be the key to a resolution between Phil and Roger. 🤞
