    Chapter 14

Five pence? Five Pillars of Islam? Team 5P, an animation production team? Five Petaseconds?
  3. Many audio books are abridged versions of the original. I don’t know if Audible does that or not. If it is abridged, that detail would be something they’d probably edit out… ;–)

    Chapter 13

My mother had had a brain tumor and had surgery to remove it. She had seemed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s, not being able to remember things from just a few hours earlier. After the surgery, she never spoke to me again, but she was responsive. She had stopped knitting or doing any of her other numerous hobbies long before her memory loss became apparent.

  7. I’m confused. Am I missing something or is this another Southern Saying that I haven’t heard before? I can’t figure out what you’re trying to say here. Sorry… ;–)
  8. I started organizing my old Frameline Festival Programs, using plastic magazine holders to store them in 3-ring binders. I was looking through them, scanning for autographs that I had gotten over the years. I was surprised to see when some of the more popular LGBTQ films were shown at Frameline. When I first started attending Frameline, I’d pick a few programs to attend. I wasn’t particularly adventurous and often selected movies based primarily on the picture of the pretty boys (note to filmmakers: make sure to include a sexy picture of shirtless young men with your promotional materials even if that’s not the focus of your movie). There were many movie I didn’t bother to see at the Festival that I later saw on DVD. These days I get a Castro Pass and camp out in the theater for a week and a half. I often enjoy movies I would not have purchased tickets for based on the program description. It’s good to get out of your comfort zone occasionally – even if you’re Risk Averse like me! ‘–) My thoughts on the programs I saw at Frameline42 are posted in The Pit. ;–)

    Chapter 12

That lends more credence to my alien invasion theory! The characteristics of that aircraft don’t match anything that we know of from anywhere on earth (unless Elon Musk has yet another concept to reveal). The acceleration alone suggests power from an unknown source.

Aren’t you supposed to pay for that out of your story’s record-breaking profits? ;–)
  14. Has anyone else wondered why people would want to eat the cannibalistic breakfast cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Every TV ad features at least one example of cannibalism. It is a long-running theme.
  15. Very belated birthday greetings! Sorry I missed the party. I blame it on my Disability (Anxiety and Depression – hey, Social Security confirmed the diagnoses)! ;–)

    Chapter 11

…And as the credits roll at the end of the story, a song starts playing… 🎶 Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky It had the one long horn, one big eye I commenced to shakin' and I said "ooh-eee" It looks like a purple eater to me It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater (One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater) A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater Sure looks strange to me (One eye?) Well he came down to earth and he lit in a tree I said Mr. Purple People Eater, don't eat me I heard him say in a voice so gruff I wouldn't eat you cuz you're so tough It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater One-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater Sure looks strange to me (One horn?) I said Mr. Purple People Eater, what's your line He said it's eatin' purple people and it sure is fine But that's not the reason that I came to land I wanna get a job in a rock and roll band Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater (We wear short shorts) Flyin' purple people eater Sure looks strange to me And then he swung from the tree and he lit on the ground He started to rock, really rockin' around It was a crazy ditty with a swingin' tune Sing a boop boop aboopa lopa lum bam boom Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater I like short shorts Flyin' little people eater Sure looks strange to me (Purple People?) And then he went on his way, and then what do ya know I saw him last night on a TV show He was blowing it out, a'really knockin' em dead Playin' rock and roll music through the horn in his head Tequila 🎶 They couldn't have used Blue Moon, this isn’t An American Werewolf in London! The Morning After is too associated with The Poseidon Adventure. My Heart Will Go On was annoying enough in Titanic. A Whole New World makes sense, but the lyrics don’t… ;–)

    Losing It

Usually the man is the one with the undisclosed, ‘illegitimate’ children. Occasionally women will give up children (usually their first born) when they can’t take care of them, particularly when they are still students. Are they any additional siblings we haven’t been introduced to yet? Does the fact that her name contains ‘elope’ have any significance? Is there anything she won’t do to cause chaos? ;–)

    Chapter 3

Scott is just as disgusting from his point of view as he was from Mark’s. I guess we’ll be reading about how desperate he is in the aftermath of his attempted rape next. So another chapter or two more recap… Randall and Dr Johnson are preventing him from acting on his impulses, but no one is helping him develop coping strategies to change his behavior (ie all stick, no carrot). ;–)

    Chapter 11

As the author, you know how things will turn out in the story. If I were an author, the worry I’d have is whether the readers thought that my solution was believable and logical. We readers are all a bunch of backseat drivers! ;–)

  25. I don’t know what happened to them, but we had a few rocks and a jar of black sand from the Big Island, a souvenir of our last vacation before we moved away from Hawaii in 1967. My Protestant minister father did not believe in superstitions. And somehow, taking the rocks and sand weren’t stealing from a National Park! ;–)
