    Chapter 19

So how long before Declan manages to put two and two together to figure out that the blade is connected with the cuts? He’s not usually very quick on the uptake on things related to Bailey. But he did notice the straight, clean lines and the thin piece of metal that fell out of the book… Bailey seems to be thawing slightly when he admitted, “You’re right.”
  2. The cool thing about having a 19 yr old son, is that he introduces me to awesome bands like Polyphia. Their instrumental grooves are out of this world.
  3. Umm... Maybe there's something to it, but I think it's all just another foolish attempt of trying to know the future or something else that is unknown to the person. All through history mankind was always horrified of things it could not predict or control, so it did everything to try controlling the unknown, or at least create the illusion that it can predict the unpredictable. I'm not saying that it's not possible that maybe, just maybe there is something to astrology... but in my opinion it's just taking wild guesses. Anywho hopefully I didn't offend anyone.

  5. Wow... This is one of two vids that I saw many years ago ultimately leading me to write Suffer No Fools.
  6. @Timothy M.: Thanks for the shout-out, buddy @W_L: To write my Suffer No Fools story, I relied on essays appearing in Man, Myth and Magic, New York 1970 (entries in Vols. 1 and 24). This is an encyclopedia set, and any good public library should have it. Specifically, there is some references to how the Houses are calculated, and many many tables and prose breakdowns on how these planets affected (it is believed) the person's birth time and place.

    Chapter 4

As soon as you can hold your phone/tablet with both hands in front of you… maybe. ;-)

    Chapter 38

Well that was exciting! It’s pear-shaped, by the way. But it’s not really very American. I first heard it used by a British friend and had to ask what it meant. ;-)

    Chapter 4

It’s actually surprising she didn’t tell Louis that his blindness was “god’s punishment” for his being Gay! Although, as I think about it, she might have saved that for when she was alone with Louis. It would have had a bigger impact if she said it in from of everyone, but that might have gotten her kicked out right away… ;-)

    Chapter 4

Louis is enjoying his well-deserved comfort food when Miriam spoils the mood! What a way to turn your stomach! At least Louis was able to guide her out the door… ;-)

    Chapter 7 - Ian

Such a mean, mean writer! You make Ian’s stomach flop when he’s around Hotshot, but you never let them talk to each other more than a few words each! It’s like you’re pranking all your readers! ;-) When my youngest cousin, nieces, and nephews were young, I used to buy them Lego. I loved playing with them when I was little back in the ‘60s. They all love them too. I like that they’re (mostly) non-gender-specific and a creative toy. My younger brother and I used to build houses and space ships back when there were fewer specialized pieces: wheels, doors, windows, gears (bigger than the current style), and roofs (bevelled blocks). There were fewer colors too: white, black, red, blue, yellow, green, gray, and clear.
  13. A drug raid would probably be a good thing for Luke, though. Their father would probably be charged with child neglect or something at a minimum! Being a foster child in a place like Coburg couldn’t be too bad… ;-)

    Chapter 6

Andy & Jake seem to be star-crossed… whatevers! ;-)
  15. I think it’s the Coburg Police (Canadian Cops carry guns, right? Not like British Constables with their batons, right?). Coburg’s not a very big place and Robbie doesn’t know many people there. It can’t have been that difficult to find Robbie! ;-) I doubt Jake and the Coburg Drug Lord(s) would bother invading Alex’s house just for Don’s measly $2k… ;-)

    The Robbery

Well, I’m glad to see you again! I missed you and I’m sorry I can’t do anything to make things easier for you. But I’m glad your son was there for you. ;-) We all knew that things were going to happen in Transylvania! Now I’m going to have to search through my music videos to find the Pet Shop Boys video (Heart) that features Ian McKellen as a Nosferatu-esque Vampire! Of course, the truly scary part is Neil Tennant with a (female) bride! Chris Lowe plays the chauffeur who drives the bride & groom to the castle, and later drives the bride away with Ian. Poor Neil is left to stare bitterly from a castle window – was he missing Chis, Ian, or the bride? (The video was shot in Slovenia while it was still part of Yugoslavia.) ;-)
  17. The Red Woman (Melisandre)’s Lord of Light? ;-)
  18. I’d miss you! Or you didn’t really want to succeed? I’m glad you’re still here to discuss this with me!
  19. He ruined Brent’s carpet and spoiled Billy & Brett’s rendezvous? ;-)

    Chapter 36

Couldn’t Toby have just ‘called’ Demetrius mentally? ;-)
  21. Hopefully, all these experiences will help Billy to gain some maturity and the confidence to do something the next time he’s confronted by a similar situation in the future instead of overthinking everything and never reacting until it’s too late. ;-)

About The Trevor Project Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film Trevor. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. It Gets Better Project is another useful resource. There are tons of videos posted there from all sorts of people and organizations. Things really do get better! ;-) I cannot imagine the pain Dustin was going through to have attempted to kill himself. Suicide is a permanent solution to what is almost certainly a temporary situation. What seems like an impossible situation will probably feel less impossible over time. Talk to someone. Get help. You would be missed if you were gone.

    KSM

I found this to be raw, and very poignant. I have said it before, but there is something so brave about an author when he/she shares her personal journeys, no matter the outcome. I recommend this to all who want to read a story from a author who is not afraid to share his past trials with others. I commend you JayT for having the courage to allow us a glimpse into your life.

    Meeting Family

It’s Haleakala, just like the natives pronounce it. Hawaiian words are very easy to pronounce correctly once you realize the spelling and sounds aren’t inconsistent like English. It always annoys me when TV news anchors all about the nonexistent ‘Hana loo loo.’
  25. The usual answer when the truly wealthy are asked is that they’re not sure of how much money they have. Derrick probably should have answered that way. The truly wealthy have ‘people’ to worry about how much they have.
