  1. Happy B-Day, Stuby!!
  2. So here's a tongue-in-cheek question! Last week, the Blue Jays and Rays split a 4-game series in Tampa Bay. The Rays won game 4 in the 10th when the Toronto pitcher walked the batter with the bases loaded. Can we call that a walk-off walk?
  3. Happy B-Day, Mark!!

    Chapter 41

Beautiful story, exceptionally told!! Thank you so much.
  5. Exciting ending to the Giants - Cubs game today (in Chicago). Cubs were leading 2-0 coming into the ninth. The Giants scored 3 in the top of the inning. Sergio Romo, the Giants closer, comes in to pitch the bottom. Cub fans are thinking their usual bad thoughts. Romo blows it as the Cubs score 2 and win.
  6. Vince Scully did the play-by-play for last night's Dodger game. He's in his 64th season as the sportscaster for the Dodgers. He's 85. He started in 1950; the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn. Now apparently he doesn't do all the games anymore....but still. I think I can safely say he enjoys his work. Anyway, Scully told an interesting story about last night's Dodgers starting pitcher, Hyun-Jin Ryu (South Korea). He pitches left-handed, but he's actually right-handed. He writes and eats with his right hand. When he was a kid, his father mistakingly (at least I'm thinking it was in error) bought him a right-handed glove. So, yeah, he learned how to pitch left-handed. Very odd. Last night's game was his major league debut. He came to the Dodgers on the posting system.
  7. I am definitely happy that baseball is back. Being Canadian, my hopes are for the Blue Jays, but I'll watch any team anytime. Toronto fans have big expectations this year, for obvious reasons. We lost the season opener last night to the Indians. It's not great having a good knuckleballer (RA Dickey) if you don't have a player who can catch it.. Three passed balls in last night's game. Anyways, we'll go at it again tonight. I also caught the Giants - Dodgers game last night. Madison Bumgarner pitched a great game - like a 3-hitter. While I was watching the Giants-Dodgers game, all of a sudden my tv screen was full of Yu Darvish of the Rangers pitching in the 9th inning with one out. I quickly surmised, thanks to the announcer, that Darvish was pitching a perfect game. I guess my network decided this was important - definitely a good call. Darvish got the second out but, unfortunately, the next batter got a hit. I wanted to cry for Darvish but I was all cried out from watching the Jays earlier.
  8. That's the best cliffie I've seen in a long time! I was wondering whether Lance and Sam would reconcile at some point. Now I'm wondering if Lance is even redeemable. Talk about bitter and twisted. I'm now more curious about what you have in store for this jerk. Great action in that chapter!
  9. Definitely a unique and creative story. I sense some social commentary here on the futility of war and how we humans continue to make the same mistakes. I remember reading an article on this subject a while ago where one speaker says something like. "Why do we have so many wars" Because we're so good at it!"

    Chapter 2

I love the concept of a gay precinct. Funny story. I'm really enjoying it.

    Beck-and-Call Girl

Ok, I'm liking Mike more and more all the time. Hard not to. I never thought he would have sex with Corbin. He certainly seemed committed to exploring that part of himself and, again, he couldn't have been more honest about it with Corbin. The sex scene was definitely horny-making. Corbin's reaction was interesting. One minute he acknowledges what it's all about, the next he slips into wishful thinking. I can't say I blame him for that. At breakfast, he seemed back in touch with reality. He's right too; he needs to find a man in the same place he is. Easier said than done sometimes. Superb chapter!!

I like the direction you're taking here. Looking forward to more.
  14. Poor Simon??? That'll be the day. I know your work (reasonably well). This was all too easy. You're setting me up!! Great chapter though!
  15. Happy B-Day, Jim!!
  16. Thank you all.

    Chapter 1

A tragic time in Irish history. It went on for so long. I think you've struck the right amount of intensity here. It's quite the challenge you have set for yourself. I'm looking forward to more as well.
  18. Happy B-Day, Joey!!
  19. Happy B-Day, Kim!!
  20. Stan Musial was truly one of baseball's greats!
  21. Pete and Mike are a fascinating contrast. Mike offers what he can, given his situation, and appears to be up front with Corbin on that. Corbin has at least a basic understanding of where Mike's at in terms of their relationship. Pete, on the other hand, remains non-commital, for whatever reason. Pete's on the dance floor, but he's not dansing. Yeah, I like Mike as well. I'm wondering if at some point you'll let us know what "direction" he eventually took, if you know that is. It's a curiousity more than anything. I really enjoyed this chapter! Definitely looking forward to the next.
  22. Thank you all!!
  23. Happy B-Day, Ricky!!
