    PSA's

Lol - I've just worked out that PSA probably stands for 'public service announcement' - not the psa of 'prostate specific antigen' which is prominent in the minds of guys who have troubles with prostate cancer.
  2. Whoo! Well done and congratulations!
  3. Strads?? - as in Stradivarius the violin? Ye gods! better check on the pocket money for that one. lol
  4. I have a white single-cab Ford Ranger pickup with a fibreglass canopy for the tub (back). It's wonderful for when I travel as I can sleep in it comfortably and it also carts my stock of books to the market I attend. It's a mongrel for parking though as it's so long with not very good rear visiblity.
  5. The title of the link caught my attention - it seemed on a par with saying something like - 'The Scientific Quest To Prove Water Exists.' 'some of the worst discrimination and minimization comes from the gay community.' - This was the statement that surprised and most disappointed me. A long time ago I decided I liked the Kinsey idea of human sexuality as a continuum and that the various labels are a pointer, indicating where a person might be in a given situation or time of their life.
  6. Wow! That is an encounter that guy will never forget.
  7. Keep going Wayne. I know you will. Being a rock for others is a foundation of who you are and in a way gives you a base to draw on in times of your own need. Keep searching for answers, and especially, look for someone you can confide with. Best wishes!

I'm working on the next but the break will hold things up. I hope it doesn't try your patience too much.

Yes indeed. The biggest test yet.

Sorry about the cliffhanger Stephen (lol - well, not too sorry ). Hopefully there'll be some resolution in the next post.

After an initial bit of fluster Thom is applying the kind of approach he's been trained for.Wirrin, yet again is surprising me with his ideas and solutions. Calen is having problems with the situation. - Thom is very cleverly making him involved. Thanks - one of the special moments ofmy trip will be seeing my little twin grand-nephews for the first time.

Yes, extremely dangerous. Just last night I saw a program where a 30 meter asteroid left a crater over a kilometer across and that's tiny compared to the K74 one.Lol - I tried to comply with your ASAP request and had to make do with a shorter posting than I like. The alternative was a much longer wait.

Thanks Sandrewn. I get surprised myself at some of the happenings - sometimes the characters take over and go in directions I didn't expect.

Yes, a huge move - Uranus is a long, long way away.
  16. Wow Graeme! Thank you for that. Very moving.

ATTUNGA Part 35. *** Wirrin moved from his quiet, almost meditative state at a signal indication and watched Thom respond on his console. From the set of his features as he turned it was bad news. “It's another course change and this initial data says it's towards the habitats. I'll soon have it more accurate but it's enough to discount Jupiter.” “It can't be.” Wirrin felt the same disbelief Calen was voicing, and watched with a hope he knew wasn't justified while Thom checked the more prec
  18. I've just finished re-reading three of Robin Mckinley's heroine books, 'The Hero and the Crown', 'The Blue Sword', and 'Deerskin'. I find she is a wonderful author who sweeps you along with the power of her writing.
  19. Bill W -When I was young, telephone numbers were just five digits. Then before I was a teen, they added a two-letter prefix. ST stood for Stillwell, PI was for Pioneer and RA was for Raymond, so if you told someone your phone number, you would say, "Call me at Pioneer 8-7432." Five digits - how about one? When our family lived in a small country town over 40 yrs ago our phone number was '2'. My sister traveled to Europe where, at the time, phone numbers were enormous by Australian standards, and had great trouble convincing the local telephonists (now there's a redundant occupation) that a connection could be made with the name of the town followed by a single digit.
  20. Hi Graeme, A suitable age for watching porn can't be nominated IMHO. Some people have the maturity/readiness at a surprisingly early age. Some people never have that readiness even though they're well and truly independent. It very much depends on the individual case. My suggestion, considering the rapport and trust you've described, is that YOU don't make the decision. Rather that it should be a JOINT decision as a result of discussions between the two of you. Your son respects your authority and you have trust in him. That's a situation to fight to maintain, and talking it over and listening to and considering each other, could well be the best way for both of you to be confidant that the decisions you make at different stages are the right ones. Of course, the dynamics of discussion will change as your son develops in himself as an independent thinker but you'll handle that.

Great to hear you enjoyed it. It was actually quite difficult to write and required more revision and rewriting than any previous chapter.

Birth is a completely appropriate word as the AIs have sentience, and even personality, though not in human or dolphin terms. Thanks again.

I agree - especially for Wirrin who's strained his brain for the whole duration of the story. Building??? - lol
