  1. Lovely little chapter and I think that Joss and PJ would be perfect couple friends for Louis and Charlie. I just love the little glimpses of domestic life, and how both couples function together, not always an easy thing. I can't wait for the artefact to show up, hopefully in the most mundane place possible.
  2. Ah, so now we know what Septimus is or has become. Jamal, Devon, Whip prove themselves even in small ways. Maybe an eagle will encounter the raven and have it for lunch.
  3. Sorry that you are having to deal with that at work, horrible to deal with on any level. Already planted onion end of February and have some tomato and pepper planted as of today. Have some cucumber ready to be planted but might try that for tomorrow but will probably leave it for next weekend. About twenty percent of my Irises have started to bloom already, for some reason almost all are the purple ones, not sure why. Hoping to get some white and red to bloom for Easter Sunday, but we will just have to see what Mother Nature decides.

    Chapter 20

The arrogance of power coupled with the desire for more. The land protects its own, the relic will drive those that seek to use it for the wrong reason mad.
  5. I suspect that Alice is dealing with more than Dante realizes. I don't doubt that she is more than a little upset with Dante, but all of this has come to a head, and she is smack dab in the middle of it all. I have no doubt that Carolyn will do what she can to protect Blaise, wonder if Frank's recent actions pertaining to a certain death will come up? I dislike Blaise so much, that I can't be objective about him. Truly shocked that Valentine was molested by Blaise.
  6. Glad that Gus seems to get along with the guys at least enough to function in a social situation. I still am not sure about Ian and Gus, but if Ian is as interested as he appears to be, then he needs to at least try. He and Gus may not be compatible, even if both are at least interested, and yes, I think Gus is despite his reluctance. Tom is just too funny at times. Louis and Charlie just seem to inch forward with each chapter, a little more of a connection, a little more intertwined.
  7. And you thought sex and politics was a more modern issue; nope, since the beginning of the first hamlet and the first election of a head man. Now, what could the Prince of Peace want Granger for, a mission? This might prove more than a little interesting, as long as it doesn't delay his return to England. I would have thought that Ines's brother and father would have been a little more circumspect, neither was, this makes me question them on several levels.
  8. Charlie and Brayden are finding themselves in that magical land of first love. Charlie knows that so much of what he will face is going to be determined by how well his mother handles and accepts counseling, we can hope it goes well, but we will see. Discretion is truly the better part of valor, especially in school.

    Chapter 2

I am glad that Sam was able to say goodbye to those that he grew up with and the ones that watched him grow into a young man. He will be missed by the citizens of this hamlet. Ser Graeme is unfortunately correct about the propensity of mankind. Let's hope this night of farewell is something that Sam remembers fondly for some time to come.
  10. Wonderful chapter can't wait to see how the upcoming party goes. Will and Austin are creating a lot of buzz, and yes, Harvard will use it to their advantage. Gad that Stef decided to go, you know that JP was behind him all the way. And glad that Marie went to cover for Travis getting a little tipsy and a little wild. Jeremy has come out of his shell, to a certain extent. Glad to see that, and glad that he has Kris to make sure he handles it well. Can't wait to see what happens next.
  11. Jamal has is learning what it means to lead, and Devon and Whip learn what it means to follow a true leader. Their journey has truly begun. Luther and the Rae have come together once more. They have moved on from the past, but how strong is the future. Chandar understands and so do those that come to his call. What happens next will be the start of the ending, but for whom?
  12. What the hell rose behind Septimus? Was it what gives him power? And why did the traitor know what was coming for the Commander. The very town itself hid the children, but they must find a way to make themselves safe, and can that be done if they stay? But, if they go, go where, and how? Jamal has once again proven himself worthy. And he has realized something more than a little important, something that few truly do, even those with more age.

    Chapter 19

When those from another land are in your home and hearth, you learn that standing up and fighting may well be your only choice, nay chance. Anyone fighting for Louis is doing so only for money or power, not for the good of those that they should be servicing. Loyalty and honor will bind and hone many a sword, but it does not promise victory, only righteous death.
  14. Some truly amazing stories by some outstanding authors...

    Chapter 1

Sam has made a decision that will change his life for the better or worse, only time will tell. The tragedy of his parent's death may well be the push needed for this decision, but it was one years in the making. Sam's reading and dreaming of the life of a knight was something that showed his interest in something beyond the village he was born and raised in, he truly yearned to understand that life. And now he shall, but will it match what he thought? Glad that Sam had the forethought to make sure the turnips were going to be used, no sense in them just decaying. Theron Kent understands, perhaps more than any of the others.
  16. Nora has gotten a lot more talkative and curious in the last few chapters, is she just coming out of her shell, or is this something else? Is Kellen's magic trying to break free? Wish I trusted Atlas a little bit more. And I do think that Peterson and Woolsey were not trying to find the truth, but have no idea why.
  17. It isn't always easy to figure out how to live with someone, whether it is platonic or not. Plus, throw in the fact that Louis and Tom have a history, and well it can add to the complications. I truly don't think Tom thought about it, he is just one of those guys that is comfortable with this body, and didn't think about it. I hope Ian doesn't get hurt. I don't think Gus will do so purposely, but Ian is a little fragile, some of that was his aunt, but some is that he has just locked himself away to an extent. Louis has a wicked sense of humor, just have to love it.
  18. I have never been able to understand why a parent does that; if you can't love and take care of the child you are responsible for, give them up for adoption. Charlie will need counseling; glad he is getting it. Brayden did the right thing, this was just something that as long as Charlie wouldn't tell him what was happening, he couldn't really help, and Charlie needed help. Much like @Summerabbacat, I am not sure that his mother will truly change. There is something more than just a little broken when a parent will do something like this.

    Chapter 20

The things you have to go through to be ready to have a dinner party with nobles and those above and below your status. You can understand how Greg would be annoyed about the secrecy of some of the information he was given, that said, did he simply think that because he was a changed and became a noble, all information would just be given to him immediately? Can't wait to see what happens next.
  20. Would you like a regular temperature year-round or do you like your seasons? Texas used to have seasons when I was very young, not any longer. I would like it to stay 65 degrees F. Do you wear sunscreen regularly? June through October yes, although much like you, should year-round. Did you watch any TV or Movies yesterday? No, never had the TV on. Do you own any old paperbacks or hard cover books still? Literally hundreds, some that I bought in the 1970's. Do you ever read them or are you a digital kind of person now? While I read digital, I truly love holding a book, reading, feeling it in my hands. What is the last book as on paper, did you read? The Correspondent by Virgina Evans
  21. Well, just a little more time to anticipate what is coming.
  22. I honestly think some or maybe much of this could have been avoided if Dante had spoken up a lot sooner. He should have told Alice what was going on as soon as he processed what Frank told him about the wreck and what had been happening. I am not happy with Alice marrying Matthew, you just don't make decisions when this much turmoil is going on. We can pray that Frank will come out of this again, but will there be more damage, will he truly be a child this time? Blaise needs to die, not be hospitalized, not be institutionalized, but die...

    Madrid

Well, Granger arrives in Madrid and at that house of the Duke de Cardona, and meets his wife, who seemingly does not understand all of what is going on, nor how no matter what she thinks she knows, she does not have the upper hand. I have to wonder how Granger will handle this, seemingly he is stepping into a firestorm, and how he handles this, may well impact how Daventry is able to deal with the situation in Spain. Sending an errant woman to a convent in Spain during that time, was depending on the convent, either the same as a prison, or more like a spa retreat, I doubt the one Cardona will select will resemble the spa...

    Divine Delays

Just where in the hell is Ra when you need him? Can't Isis do something? Really... So much activity, and so much that can go wrong.

    Chapter 18

Kaylen guides Tomas and Ronan; and yet they guide him as well. Their commitment to each other is stronger than they even realize. They must make a decision, John Lackland is nearer death than they or many others realize, but what of those that would stand for England, rather than a foreign prince.
