I am sure that I posted a review for this the first time I read it; I don't know it if did not transfer over when gayauthors.org reorganized or what... I loved this story; it is amazing how that small change in circumstances or perspective can mitigate how we view the situation and those involved. A wonderful glimpse at a turbulent time in man's history. I always wondered if Mark would expand on this; but I guess we have the Bridgemont series for our navel endeavors and I would never give that up...

Great chapter, the writing and flow were picture perfect. I can't wait to get to Chicago, I just know that there is going to be something going on up there. Maria is just way to grown up already, she is going to be the one that explains sex and actually knows what she is talking about in about fourth or fifth grade. Love it...

The joy that we all receive from a new chapter of any story by Mark has no bounds... I thought the writing and pacing was just perfect in this chapter. I loved how it flowed and yet stayed on point. I thought Granger handled the encounter with the Admiral Berkeley and with Pellew as well has could be expected under the circumstances. Glad we have Clifton back, even if on another ship in the area; and amazing how much Granger seeks out information and new innovations, I bet few other Captains of the time did so quite as faithfully as he does. Hate that Cavendish is having this issue with his father, after all he went through; he deserves a little leeway. That being said, this was often the way of society at the time; unlike Granger, who received some help from Caroline, sons and daughters were at the mercy of the parents on who and when they wed. I wonder how Granger will find a way to help him; because you just know that he will... I truly feel this posting should come with a choir singing the Halleluiah chorus...

I cannot tell you and everyone how excited I am to have a new story in the Bridgemont series up and running. I loved how this one started; we can already tell that it will be a cold time for one and all... Granger is the perfect one to have in the middle of this many people pulling themselves in their ships in more directions than are good for any of them. Can't wait to see where you take us on this magical journey, Mark... Welcome Back...

Well, I have gone back and re-read all of the Bridgemont series getting ready for the new story; I just can't wait... I would hold my breathe but then red was never really my color...

One hell of a fight; it was like a dance of death between the two of them. Loved the pacing in this chapter; the writing was good as well but the pacing was just perfect...

Oh hell yea, this just keeps getting better and better. It is amazing what goes through your head at times like these...

Great chapter; have to wonder who is wandering around the office after hours, is it the new assistant or someone else? Love the Church Lady, every small town has one. Is Jeff and Paul ever going to get to Chicago?

I now have definite proof that there is a benevolent higher power at work...

This was just truly beautiful. Love how Skold has come full circle with his feelings. Will hate to have him lose anyone close to him but it is a war...

Loved this chapter, it just flowed so well. They are a true mated pair and seem to be perfect for each other. Phuong seems to be the kind of family that we all wish we had; and I am sure she will prove up to the task of being the new Wind Master. Can't wait to see where you go next with this story.

Everyone should be lucky enough to get a mid life crisis like that one; we can only dream... Great writing and pacing in this chapter, can't wait to see where you go with the story now...

Well, have to wonder who is bankrolling the guy for sure; have a guess but will have to wait to see if I am right. Have to wonder how dirty it will get... Don't you just love small town politics...

Rebecca is tougher than even she knows; but she can't take on too many of those creatures. Some of those old churches were more than sturdy, hope she finds safety and is able to protect the kid.

Great start to the battle; Skold is not invincible, but I doubt any of these creatures could take him one on but; but a whole group might be a problem. Yea, you will have to stop them at the source; the castle will be the key.

Gotta love Miss Julie; we all need someone like her in our lives. Can't wait for Chicago...

I doubt that Rebecca will stay out of the fight; just hope she can actually protect the boy, I think it will hurt her if she can't. She and Melanie may end up with a child. And now the fun begins... Excellent pacing and writing the last couple of chapters...

OMG, I just loved this chapter; it just set everything coming up so well. The anticipation is just killing me....

I guess because I can rarely shut up; but I have just never understood how two people cannot talk to each other, especially when it is obvious to all that something is going on. I guess this too will pass but it was damn annoying...

In a way it is unfair, Skold has Dom with him and Rebecca, who finally has someone to love, can't be with her but must possible say good-bye over the phone. I have to wonder maybe Rebecca has it better; maybe not having to look the person you love in the face as you face death gives you the knowledge that they are somewhere safe, even just for the moment... Great Chapter...

Skold, for lack of a better word, is a better person that I will ever be. I might forgive but I would never be able to serve the King in any manner. Good flow and writing with the chapter; can't wait to see the coming battle...
