Daphne and Graham are right send ups. Daphane never appreciated and always overlooked by those around her. Graham is a little more of an interest; could he be connected to Englert in some shape form or fashion? The fact that Uncle Vernon had business with clients of Graham's just reeks. While the police can truly do little unless they catch Englert in the midst of behaving badly; this will be something to stir up a little firestorm of what to do what to do. Love how Louis handled the situation with the food, that was spot on. Don't you just hate someone that has the money to do something right; but either lacks the taste or the ability to hire someone that actually knows what to do. Money gives no one taste or manners; generally, you are either born with them or have them grilled into you at a very young age. Such a shame that Daphane and Graham obviously were neither born with them nor graced with instructions in them.

Well, both twins are safe for the moment, or are they? Talk about an instant connection.

As the author promised this one truly has it all. Characters that grip you from introduction to conclusion. They all worm themselves into your psyche and you find you can't wait to find out what happens to them. A mystery of young love torn asunder by a brutal murder. The surviving partner and the others family linked together by love but also a hope for answers. A young police officer pushed into a top division for uncertain reasons, then immediately engulfed in crimes almost too horrible to imagine. Will he rise to the occasion? Read this amazing tale, you certainly will not be disappointed.

This was lovely. Rick survived and discovered that those in his division thought he was a pretty good officer and were looking forward to his return. Rick and Adam are together, I believe for the long run. Could we see them adopting in the future, maybe an older child. They are both certainly good with kids. Nick came out of this okay, physically he recovered easily and when the other parts got hard, he had those around him that understood and cared about him deeply. Nick and Casey are together. And much like Jimmy and Shane, they appear tight but at that age who knows what the future brings. Let's just hope they all stay friends. The Inspector and Helen and all the rest of the division are ready to move on. Beth and Tom got closure and a couple of new boys to look after; could it have ended any better for them from where it started. Rick got his sister back, maybe really got her for the first time since they were small. Let's hope we get to peek back in from time to time on this group that we all have come to know and care for deeply.

It is great how competitive Will and Marie are, and yet, they are so there for each other no matter what. Will and Travis connect on so many levels, but Will always gets Travis a little more. Travis is stressing that Sebastian has gone method acting, he is basically turning into Curtis Buck and Travis is having to fight through his anxiety of growing up in the Buck mansion all over again. I don't see how this ends well for anyone. So glad Kalibra is doing so well, they have a real chance to break out if any of those songs really pop, they have so much going for them. I am sure that perhaps JP will let them use some of his cars, but he will set the bar pretty high to get that access and keep it. Wonderful chapter.

Really enjoying this story; the first two chapters have flowed wonderfully, and the writing is very invocative and lyrical in nature. The descriptiveness of the writing is exceptional. So insightful that Kaylen and Thom can walk in silence and yet so much be said and know to them both. Kaylen will have to work at sharpening the squires as the smithy does his sword. Both will find use soon, I fear.

Well, seems like our intrepid band of vampires are getting a massive tech upgrade. While in general, I think technology can be good; AI really does scare me, and I have significant questions about its use. I thought the whole discussion on the heraldry was fascinating. I am with @drpaladin, at least surprised that rank is not included and done in an uniformed way but still. Loved the idea of using the waxing moon and the eggs, really brilliant.

Louis and Charlie had a rather deep discussion without meaning to, strange how that can happen. But they are both right, how often do we start out looking for something that is an image in our head, but then reality strikes and nothing about that image is actually realistic in our life. Tom was obviously very successful in the City and went at it for a rather long time; but burnout happens. He needs to sit back and take some time and figure out what it is that he really wants. Then he can try and make a plan, while plans can be great, sometimes you just need to fly by the seat of your pants for a while. Thomas Englert reappeared, tried to threaten Louis, but instead Louis revealed that the police have actually been keeping tabs on our Mr. Englert. That took the starch right out of him. I doubt we have seen the last of him, but he needs a better game plan, and he needs more information on what the hell Uncle Vernon could have done with the object de art.

Well, I totally agree with Dante about cockroaches. We have what we call water roaches here in central Texas, and they are big and ugly and fast and very hard to kill. On the other hand, I despise shrimp. I will not eat anything that absorbs its own waste, just can't get past that. Tom, Sawyer, and Dante are a strange triad. Tom has actually turned out to be one of the few on this farm, that I actually trust, and considering where he started, that is saying something. I do enjoy these side stories; they give such unique perspectives.

Sounds fabulous, can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Okay, first of all, if Rick dies; you better go into protective custody. I have to wonder if Rick didn't always think that it was going to end up like this, getting the one who killed Martin but dying in the process. I told all of you not to worry about Benevetti, he may be an ass, but he is an old-fashioned dye in the wool good cop. He may not approve of Rick and his lifestyle and are we even sure of that; but he was never going to let anything happen to him if he could help it. Why would Adam have let Nick go to the restroom by himself, he knew what was going on. Rick made his decision, and it really wasn't hard, Nick had to be saved at all costs. Damn, it's just my allergies is all...

In interesting start, but so much of this chapter was melancholy and sadness, it just dripped from the page. A love hidden but acknowledged, and a father's betrayal of both wife/mother and son; but why?

I am certainly going to have to find time to read this one...

Much like @drsawzall, I too have never understood the attraction to the tattoo or piercing that so many have. While I can see some on others that I think are attractive, just never had the desire to try myself. I am glad that Jason and Gavin were honest with the kids, that way no undercurrent of weird vibes being noticed, but Matthew's reaction is certainly understandable. And much like @Summerabbacat, I admire Irma for her fortitude in dealing with these " boys " and the discussions, she is certainly in a class by herself. Slav and Rory are finding their way and seem determined to stay together, let's hope they succeed. Communication will be key.

And I thought I was bold and loud in high school.

Not sure how I missed this, but I did. Rory knows what he wants, just isn't sure how feasible it is as of yet. He and Slav know they want to be together. Slav has a great deal of common sense, and I am glad that Rory listens to him. Gavin and Jason are finding themselves more in sync; and they truly want to take care of those in their lives.

Nick and Brad are getting more than an eyeful. Nick is finding his people and Brad is along for the ride while he decides what his people are. LOL Rick is right, Corcoran could walk past someone and if he is made up, they wouldn't recognize him at all; on the other hand, he knows what all the key players in Rick's life looks like. Rick and Helen are both putting themselves out there, let's hope they are ready for what comes. I feel sick.

Yes, I suppose a dead unicorn might keep a few customers away; or draw them in to see the carcass. The twins did not seem to know what the beast were that had been chasing them, and this is obviously not where they were from, but where did they come from and where did they end up?

Truly interesting start, can't wait to see what happens.

Granger immediately realized the issues with Weston and did what was needed to alleviate them. Weston had nerves, mostly about playing the fool in front of Granger. Glad that Granger, Carmella, Cavendish and Elizabeth have all reached a detente. And it appears that perhaps the marriage will be good for Cavendish and Elizabeth. It will certainly help to eliminate some of the gossip that they have both been exposed to. A honeymoon in France, even before the peace treaty is full signed, the lives of the rich and powerful in whatever century they live. Granger had the foresight to make sure that he used his connections to help access the places that he needed to see. This removes him from a great deal of suspicion on why he is making the rounds of the naval bases. A new conquest in sight, and I feel that he will once again prevail. Bravo @Mark Arbour

Lovely chapter, and I have to say, Uncle Vernon, Louis, and I would have enjoyed meandering through places like this looking and exploring. A thought occurred to me, could Uncle Vernon have hidden the figure in some place they used to visit, you know just added something to a Great House that they were touring? Not even really sure how feasible that would be; but he obviously, did not leave it to Louis, and if has to be somewhere. Like that Louis and Charlie are both trying to find things beyond sex that they both enjoy. They need to find other activities of this burgeoning relationship will go nowhere. I personally never found baking or cooking with someone else relaxing or relationship building, but maybe it will be for them. Do worry that if there is something truly wrong with Tom and something happens to him, Ian will just suffer another loss and slide further back into depression. I am glad that Tom is trying to help him, and maybe they are just one of those couples that start off by accident and really succeed. Enjoying this all so much.
