The not so little and rather ugly Secret
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in The not so little and rather ugly Secret
I knew the accident wasn't just an accident, and I knew somehow that it was Blaise that caused it. Although, I did not have any idea that his molesting Anthony while driving was what happened. I had thought perhaps Anthony and he were fighting but... Frank did what he had to do to get away from Blaise, but he trapped Tom in a never-ending loop of abuse to do so. Have to wonder if Tom realized enough to make that decision for himself, perhaps he did. Frank may well have done too good of a job over the years for some to ever believe him. Frank does love Dante. Just WOW. -
OMG, so many questions. So, Caleb, not Josh, or is Josh who is supposed to appear if something like this was to happen to try and keep Caleb hidden? Was there another operations team in action? Is that what Walter shut down, or was that just the last remnant of the team that took Caleb/josh and killed Julian Parks? Who initiated those operation teams, was it truly Cerberus? Can Caleb and Josh be integrated or will they always remain separate? James proved just how much of a brother he is to Josh, and Adam as well. Josh deserves this new family, let's hope they are able to stay together. I now expect daily updates on this story from now on, and that includes the sequel.

Dammit, I can't believe that Corcoran has been as lucky as he has by slipping away time and time again. And how we get to see his creepy serial killer den and all that entails. The number of pictures clearly shows that Corcoran has always viewed Rick and the primary target, the one that got away so to speak. But what happened all those years ago to fixate Corcoran on Rick? Well, we may never know the answer, but if Rick could remember something, we might have a clue of what started all of this. Or, of course, Corcoran could just be plain psycho, and Rick just could have walked by and smiled, frowned, or laughed at the wrong moment. Hope some of the other officers take their job about taking care of the kids as seriously as Helen and Rick. They are the ones that I truly worry about, too often victims in crimes like these can fall through the crack's way to easily. How is Corcoran supporting himself? Renting Casey from Jarvis, traveling around, stalking Rick, etc., all takes time and money. A traditional job would not give him the time he seems to have spent stalking Rick; and nothing that has been said indicates where his money is coming from. So many questions.

Thriller/Suspense Genre Deep Dive 8
centexhairysub commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Some seriously good work by some truly talented authors. Thanks for this deep dive. -
Josh learned that Garrett and Rachel, his parents, gave their life to make sure this was kept a secret. We still don't know what caused them to run, why was the team sent after them? Josh calling out Dad, means that he did view them as his parents, and I am not sure why, but I believe they loved him more than he may ever really realize. They were trying to get to Julian Park, but why? So many still unanswered questions. Claire, Adam, James, Dan, and even I think Greg view Josh as family. They will do what they can to protect him and see that he makes it out the other side of this as okay as he can be. But will the two sides integrate, or will one be gone? OMG, we need the next chapter, like tomorrow.

Well, Louis and Charlie rather jumped the gun or did part of this totally out of sequence for me. But maybe this is what they both need, well, we will see. As @Summerabbacat said, part of this was rather sad. Going to three different places to get part of Charlie's stuff as he just seemed out of bounds at all three. He made need what Louis can offer more than he realizes. Even if they end up just being friends and he ends up only in the studio, at least he will have some stability. Is Tom, ill? I mean more than just the burnout from work? I do think there is something else that he hasn't opened up about yet. I actually would be happy if he ended up with Ian, unless it meant that Ian was going to end up hurt in the end, not sure he could handle another body blow at the moment. Loved this chapter, can't wait to see what happens next. And isn't it Charley's Aunt? If it is the one that I am thinking of, totally hilarious.

Serious Conversations- not Pretty, but Necessary
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in Serious Conversations- not Pretty, but Necessary
I have suspected it for a while and voiced it a time or two that Frank is hiding a really traumatic event. Not sure if it is about the wreck, or perhaps some type of sexual abuse when he was younger, or even something that perhaps he witnessed. But it is going to come out, and I think all hell may well breakout when it does. Dante may never truly understand the pressure that Alice feels toward her family. Those in rural areas are often more tied to family in strange delicate ways than those that grow up in the city. Sometimes in ways that can't even be really explained. That said, Dante is right as well, this family is broken on some level, maybe because Carolyn has allowed Britney to become so corrosive, or maybe just via benign neglect. I don't think that Alice and Matthew will ever be truly happy together, but if there isn't any alternative presented soon, I think that Alice will end up doing what she thinks is the right thing whether it really is or not. I have come to like Armand, and I couldn't stand him the first couple of times he was around. Glad that Sawyer and Dante and Tom and Dante have made up; but the big moment will be if Frank and Dante can get back on an even keel. And not sure that Dante and Alice and Frank would ever work on any level if there weren't a lot of communication and some extensive therapy. I think Frank is honest with himself and Dante when he says that he loves him. I think Alice cares for Dante is some way that she can't even quite define as of yet. And Dante is attracted to both of them in different and unexpected ways. -
I think Rick handled the situation with Casey about as well as could possibly be expected. Helen is right though, often teens that have gone through what he has often find it easier to relate to older individuals, they just find those their own age lacking in experience and understanding of what is going on beyond their narrow periphery. Actually, Casey and Nick meeting would not be a bad idea, not sure that it would go anywhere, but would give them someone to talk to; Casey might not see Nick as boyfriend material but even getting to just relate to and be around someone his age in a normal capacity would be good. Nick would need to be informed of some of his background, but that would need to be handled discreetly. Like a few others, I do worry about the inspector being so open about Barret, maybe not with this group, but who might they say something to that they shouldn't? Benevetti might be an ass, but not sure he would endanger himself or others with his dislike of Rick, and are we even sure he really dislikes Rick? Could he be attracted to him and acting the ass, so no one realizes? Of course, he could still just be an ass; but that doesn't mean he may not well be a good cop. Can't wait to see what happens next. And an overlap with the Thompsonville universe in a follow up story to this one, could be very welcome.

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 28 - Jan. 3)
centexhairysub commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Sometimes you just have to give it up and no it wasn't meant to happen. Nothing unusual in my area of Texas, or if there was, I missed it. Spent Christmas week in Alabama, but in Huntsville, so not as many rednecks as you would expect. Actually, a rather nice visit. -
I swear I was ready to bitch slap Jeremy and Kris both before this chapter was over with. Lord, they are damn near custom made for each other, but they have to talk to each other and let the other know what is going on. Really, @PrivateTim is totally right, Will sets Carlo straight that as this is a quasi-date, that he can't play around on him without it being out of bounds, then Will does exactly that. If you are going to set limitations on others, then stick to them yourself. I do understand him getting there and getting worked up because Travis is now in California, but that doesn't mean you ignore the guy you brought to New York with you for two quickies in the bathroom and a closet. No one came off exactly shinning in this chapter.

Finis: Graduation and Beyond
centexhairysub commented on Invnarcel's story chapter in Finis: Graduation and Beyond
I was hoping the aftermath of the issues with Echo and Jasper would resonate a little more. Perhaps it did, and we just aren't seeing it as much, maybe the next group that comes in will be on a little more of an even keel, and a little more respectful of each other. I am glad that Asher and Axel seem happy together, after all, they will be together for a long time. Glad they are both learning to compromise some, although Asher seems to be doing more of it, but as long as he is happy, that is what counts. Glad the extended family seems okay with how things worked out. The job sounds like one that both Asher and Axel would be well suited for, let's hope they continue to grow and learn and prove to be excellent officers. A follow up to this one would not be amiss, perhaps a five-year jump, perhaps to the next election. LOL. -

Damien has significant control issues, and Kellen was able to get him back so that he had some type of self-control. It was only temporary, but Kellen knows the issues with Damien, and maybe he can help in some way. What the hell happened at the War College, sounds like an unmitigated disaster, hope those that caused all the damage were removed and are dead or locked up. Damien can tell that Kellen still has the power locked away, so we know for sure it is there, but why can't he reach it. I have decided that Nora is okay, she was just so ill treated by the other detectives, that she may well be useless until she figures out that she isn't. Not sure how Kellen and Atlas are going to deal with each other, I could see there being tension at some point. -
The Echoes of Ruination
centexhairysub commented on Invnarcel's story chapter in The Echoes of Ruination
Axel, Skye, and Haoyu came to Asher's rescue. They are the three that I would have suspected to care the most. Hate that they all got hurt to some extent, we can hope the laser did not do too much damage to Haoyu. I know that Skye and Axel will be okay, they may have some down time, but they will be okay. Echo and Jasper were both hurt, and frankly, I hope they both have long painful recoveries and then spend years locked up, or whatever this society does. Jasper is screwed up, but I blame Echo more, years of hearing about how the guides took his mother away and Echo blathering about superiority, not sure he really had a chance. Asher will have to deal with the aftereffects of the rape. Since he was neither drugged, nor had his memory erased, he will have to deal with everything a about it. Of course, if he had not put up such a fight to having his memory erased, then the others would not have arrived in time. A lot of people know what happened, but will the government try and cover this up, or will this perhaps lead to a breakthrough in how each side treats each other? Only time will tell. -
How many times is Corcoran going to be able to slip away into the dark. Rick had to break cover; he could not risk that Corcoran would get his hands on the kid leaving the skate park, that had to be his first concern. Nick should have called Helen, but he truly did not understand how dangerous this man was. So, Adam will be with Nick and Brad while Rick is up on his float... Yea, i don't see anything going wrong there.

Decoding the Clues of the Case
centexhairysub commented on Invnarcel's story chapter in Decoding the Clues of the Case
Well, I had actually already decided that Jasper was behind the blackouts and attacks on the other guides, but I honestly, did not think the Professor would have been this reckless. Asher was an idiot, he should have told someone. -
Wished that I had stayed home but got pulled out and about. Hope everyone had a night they wished for; and will get the year ahead that they need and deserve.

Granger is going to be so exhausted by the time that he leaves for Spain, that he will need to voyage to recuperate so that he is ready for his adventures in Spain. Cavendish is getting smarter, he knew at some point this would come out and Granger would be angry if he was not already aware of it. Cavendish is going to need Granger to help him figure out how to make this new situation work to all of their advantage. As Cavendish and Elizabeth move to set up their own household, they are going to have to find the right people to staff it and make sure that nothing leaks out about their marriage. That may not be as easy as they think. Elizabeth needs to stop looking at the world through rose colored glasses, her position should have given her a better idea of how the world really works, but either she was truly sheltered, or is a total idiot, I just can't decide which. Carmella has made life for Granger easier in some ways; but she has caused issues in others. While I think that her place in his life is a benefit for the moment, I wonder if it will always be so. As always, a truly excellent chapter. p.s. Granger handled Daventry and the issue with his carriage just perfectly.

Well, we are immediately getting back into the swing of things in this one. I do like that Greg will listen and if the first decision he made was wrong, he doesn't have any issues with correcting it; that is very hard for some, they never want to admit they did anything wrong.

What, what did you know? Did I miss a revelation that could have caused this reaction? I hate feeling like I missed something...

I do think Will is right for a large part of why Finn is so angry with him, that isn't all of it, but at least a large part. That said, I do not understand Finn cutting off his nose to spite his face. Will has done everything that he possibly could with the exception of scarring himself to get through to Finn and yet he will not give an inch. Carlo is on thin ice with Will as well. While Carlo is a completely different issue, if he tries to push Will too far, he will find himself cut off from him as well. I would have been a little bit less bitchy and taken the trip to New York. Travis knows that Kendo is no good for him, and not just because he knows how Will feels about him; but even with his instincts saying know, Keno just seems to worm his way past those same instincts. Travis is going to have to stay vigilant or this deal with Kendo is going to cause issues for him down the road. A nice weekend in New York as a free man, so to speak, might be just what Will needs.

Charlie and Kieran are starting to put their house in order, so to speak. Charlie was able to get help with the lawyers and the bank from Kieran and his family; they have been a rock for him through all of this. Charlie discovered that his mother had done enough to get him a start in life with no debt. Of course, he would rather have her back; but what a strong woman she must have been to be able to do that for her child. Charlie also realized that he needed to get his life back to right, so he went to talk to his old boss about getting his job back. Let's hope that goes as well as everything else. Kiernan, at the urging of Father Costas, has decided to advertise his services as a computer service person, and while that might drum up some business in the short run, he would be better served to find something a little more stable. Of course, if there is enough demand, he might well find enough business to go solo and set up a office in this area. Let's hope that the trip to Sydney goes well, and that meeting the gay "uncle" does as well.

Well, the backlash when it really comes will be significant. Much like Axel and Ash, the two sides are so polarized that they can't even try to find a middle ground. But for the society to move forward, they will have to, or it will crumble in the end. When Ash guided too many Espers and got sick and passed out, does that sound anything like what is happening to some of the guides? Could they be being taken and while drugged somehow forced to guide several of the Espers?

The Holiday: More exploring
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in The Holiday: More exploring
Like the others, I think the interesting parts are when they break into couples and you get to see how they act and react with each other, how different situations can bring unexpected revelations. While all of them do get along and enjoy spending time together, for two of the couples, the idea that they can be free to explore and find places to just be themselves is lovely. A truly enjoyable time both together and apart. -

Well, the four left after the ICE princess left seem to be at least interested in getting to an answer. However there does not appear to be much to go on; and the original two detectives appear to be either incompetent, or they were hiding something trying to get credit for a big bust. Sharpe seems to have a past that was more interesting than I originally would have thought. He might be more of an asset than I my first impression of him. Diaz is still a bit of a blank to me, but the fact that he reminds Kellen of Dust says a lot. And Nora seems eager to help, and maybe actually get to do something besides get coffee and water.
