I think as written, Wally and Clara are good solid blue collar people who value work, respect, discipline and what they perceive as middle class values. In other words, their views are a bit parochial as they never had the experience of college or of travel. Zach is the star athlete and they cannot see anything that distracts him from that as having any worth or value. That he has defied them and continues to do so, rankles and is not something that appreciate as normal for teenagers, at least not one that they raised....

Well Mark chose the route of Matt having the jock to jock talk with Zach and it worked really well. I think that Matt making Zach think things through on his own and to make his own decision worked out perfect. That Zach told his 'advisor' who caused the problem to fix it or he was fired and then fired him when he couldn't fix it, says volumes. That he is seeking legal assistance to have a new guardian appointed and wants Frank to take on that responsibility is logical and despite Frank's misgivings and not really wanting to be involved, it seems to be a solid choice. Poor Frank, his life is going to get so much more interesting dealing with teenage drama which he has studiously avoided in the past. Will summed it up perfectly. Don't make promises to him that you can't keep. Will they ever get to Europe??

We will take what we can get! And still clamor for more......

And the plot thickens! Matt settling Zach down with the run and talk was perfect. The fact that Barry is fired because he couldn't fix the problem he caused is really his just rewards. Good riddance to that leech. That poor Frank is being drug out of his comfort zone and into a family brouhaha with Zach's application for a change of guardians is certainly forcing him to take a stand. Interesting! More please!

Thanks for your comments. Telepathy as I envision it involves linking with another mind. As the AI has a mind, Abel just needed a bit of focus to try making the connection and that is perhaps where you thought it was a bit less polished or technical. I used the mike in the bridge as the outward sign of the inward process and once the connected was threaded, it was easier. Linking minds with his family and then linking with the AI just made sense after that. I am surprised more have not mentioned telekinesis. It does play an important part in the story.

I used the first incident as the 'trigger' for Abel coming into his power and tried to make it as non-offensive as possible and I am glad that you think it succeeded. Mark has presented Will as perceiving this as Zach being caught in a power game and Will considers himself good at such games. Therefore, he believes he can win this one if he "plays" it right. Despite being shown all about power games repeatedly in the past several months, Zach still appears to be clueless as to how they are played or when they are played on him. His focus remains fixed on his career ambitions. He wants to make it out of Claremont on his own and this skews his perspective every time. Adding his 'advisor' into the mix, is where it could get really scary. Will is not above employing some reality checks on that smarmy little toad to teach him a lesson he will never forget. Of course, Matt could just talk to Zach and make him understand one jock to another what it is all about and Arbour could choose that option as well. I guess we will just have to stay tuned.....

That he has absolutely no memory of his home for his first nine years says more than anything else about the level of trauma he endured.... Sadly, at his age, he is forever changed and I doubt his family appreciates just how much.
