So Yettie admits he's full of hot air?

A little local Massachusetts politics
Daddydavek commented on W_L's blog entry in Life is worth an entry
Some of the more jaded commentators have speculated that Brown didn't want to chance loosing two senate seats in a row and thus forever ending his political career. They may have some validity to their point-of-view. In the bluest of blue states, while Brown is popular who really would have bet on Warren when she first announced? At any rate, I agree that politics in D.C. is showboating rather than seeking ways to better the national condition. -
Well there goes that big announcement. I think. Hopefully Zak was right all along and CJ and Mattie's parents aren't the dyed in the wool homophobes the boys thought. But then again, that would be too easy. I guess we will just have to wait and see how this plays out.

The latest chapter is up and is interesting in several ways. Granger's involvement in a threesome with a well stretched hind end was hot. His aftermath from his overindulgence in liquor was less savory. The battle at the fort is a tour-de-force but what is the result? Is he safely in control and what of the enemy force outside the gate? So many questions and no word of the second part of the plan by sea either. I know, bitch, bitch bitch! I'll just have to wait and see along with the rest of you.

One force down and the fort captured? Maybe. And what of the other force outside the gates? Also, where are the rebel's men? Thanks for the early post! But you have really whetted my curiosity.

I like the old fashioned way!

Interesting post. However, wouldn't separation increase defence, treasury and foreign policy costs for both entities and at the same time decrease the effectiveness of those functions? If there is already a Scottish parliament and a separate legal system, why would Scots who are notoriously thrifty want to increase the costs of defence etc? While the multi-national corporate conglomerates become bigger and bigger are smaller states really able to deal with them? Apple already has a larger amount of cash on hand than most governments in the world. Somehow I see the push for devolution as a yearning for a simpler time, but is that really an effective way to deal with reality?

They are all so focused on the Coach and none in the family has said anything much about Michael the bodyguard and driver who let this happen on his watch and took pictures to boot. Brad is crafty and smart enough to figure a way for the coach to meet his demise but it doesn't have to be an apparent murder. It could be convincingly made to look like suicide or even an accident. Let's not crimp our author's well known inventiveness. Will has made some good points about JJ and I agree that the family confronting him about the abuse is probably not the way to go. However, a parent could describe to JJ's therapist his recent behavior changes and that they wondered if he was being abused to point the therapist in the right direction. I see a lot of drama ahead.

Circumnavigation (99+50) Countdown to Doomsday
Daddydavek replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
With only 2 chapters and epilogue to go, CJ leaves us with the most depressing assessment of the probable future for Trevor and Shane as stated by the lawyer for Trevor's dad: "....So, my current opinion is that Trevor and Shane won’t survive much longer, and Bridget will continue to build her power. Henry will have died for nothing, and so will Trevor and Shane. I wish I could offer more hope than that, but I just don’t see any way out of this.” So it appears to me the only possible recourse for Shane and Trevor is to disappear in the South Atlantic and put on permanent hold their intentions of any sort of normal life. As long as Bridget and her minions have the resources and manpower that they do, nowhere is going to be safe for them. So CJ better have a spectacular ending planned as Bridget really needs to implode and take with her as many as her cohorts as possible. -
Well the trio and their dolphin friend Sonic are even more accomplished than already indicated. Meanwhile the K74 sorts are a persistent, prickly irritant. Nice chapter, but in my fevered fandom type opinion, way too short.

I miss my old GA/Writing Life
Daddydavek commented on Andrew Q Gordon's blog entry in Reset, Reload, Redo
In all your push to write, publish, edit, promote and post, I'm sure you haven't forgot to spend as much time on your family as possible. These first few years before the princess goes off to school full time and develops her own priorities that might not include you and Mike all the time are too precious to waste. So don't apologize for having a life! Just try to enjoy the ride and make as many memories as possible. P.S. The pictures have been great! -
StoriReder left a really long review following Ch. 88 which some may find interesting. However, his explanation as to how a rich family could get in contact with someone for a hitman seems more convoluted than this story would need. I seem to remember that Brad has some personal connection to some of the Mob in Mexico.....I'm sure he could borrow Steff's yacht and take a short cruise and set up a meeting if he was so inclined.

Windows did have capability for hidden files even in Windows 98. To hide a file you had to change the file attributes. Here's a link that explains some of it. http://www.ehow.com/how_2289529_view-hidden-system-files-windows.html

'What a revolting development this turned out to be' as Riley use to say. {From an early tv sitcom in the early '50's.} Much of JJ's behavior is suddenly much more comprehensible. Somehow I still don't think Robbie has gotten his head out of his ass or that his relationship with Brad is not permanently altered to some degree. Wade and Matt are having some issues as well and life is not perfect. But then it really never was. A very interesting and compelling chapter. Somehow I see a shrink in JJ's future. I also see a former chauffeur who got a severance package and a coach being dealt with very differently this time around.

Happy Birthday & Many More!

I think the coming battle plan as laid out by Granger is a grand opportunity for Mark to exercise his considerable ability to tell about a compelling battle scene where most things do not happen according to plan and our hero must improvise on the fly. Just my prognostication.

Wow. Great chapter. Now to wait for the next installment.

A bold and complicated plan laid out by Granger. Surely, nothing will go wrong!

The Great Norwegian Goat Cheese Fire
Daddydavek replied to MikeL's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
I'm partial to angora goats from which I have some great mohair sweaters. I suspect that CJ is a separate genus. One that hangs around precipices and cliffs.... -
There is a lot of good, dedicated, objective science in psychology with many advances in the past 100 years. And no it isn't perfect and the exceptions often outnumber the rules. I think many people share the above opinion Tim quoted and that's why so many go untreated and also why much treatment is not covered by insurance. For the people who suffer from a mental disorder, it is an ongoing stigma and burden. As far as researches finding what they are looking for, that brush tars all science and that's why there is this thing called peer review and replication of results to weed out confounding factors. As far as JJ having a mental disorder, I haven't really seen enough to even consider it. He may have exhibited some personality and character flaws but he is a teenager and that is an unsettled time even in the most well behaved adolescent. Maturing is not a straight line process. Being a spoiled rich kid has its own pitfalls or problems and is perhaps not such a good environment for producing well-rounded, well-adjusted teen-agers.

Glad to hear you are having a great visit. There is so much to see and do. We took our kids in 1991, before Oklahoma bombing and well before 9/11 so it was quite a bit more open then and the Metro prices were cheaper as well. My kids still talk about that trip and they were 11 & 8 at the time.

False Hopes and The End of the World
Daddydavek commented on C James's story chapter in False Hopes and The End of the World
A cliff-hanger ending with a view of a real outcropping called Cape Horn! Too ironical even for a goat! Another spellbinding chapter even if a bit shorter than the prior 6 when we want so much more! Arrrggghhh, as I grind my teeth realizing I have to wait at least another week....
