  1. Loved it...want more!
  2. Another historic day in our country and also busy with my grandson, I just got to this. I liked the chapter but I got a bit lost. Olga was staying at the Abello house while CJ and Owen were out of the country and then Ritch took her over to CJ's and Owens house for a visit while they were still out....but prior to that there was the paragraph where Owen and CJ took Ritch out...."CJ and Owen came by to see him around lunchtime, and took him to eat at The Tombs. ....
  3. I like the new update and the slightly larger font. I've been busy with the grandson, and note I still have to read the latest chapter from Krista that you mentioned above.

    Chapter 1

Thank-you! I appreciate your kind words. Sorry, but baby sitting my 29 month old grandson 44 to 55 hours a week at my age (73) means this is one tired old man who does not have the time or the energy to undertake writing another novel.

    The Beginning

I laughed at The uncle Nikita comment. Interesting start.

    Outsider

That house will never be finished....sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy. Avery has shown and explained the facts of life to Lee. And Lee actually seems to be beginning to understand.
  7. Sorry to be so late to the party, but today was hectic. I loved the Michelle surprise and the text from Sasha was funny. Will's parents seem typical and the surprise meeting of Ritchie's aunt was revealing. Somehow I expect Ritch's opinion of his dad and grandparents took another hit which is a downer. As usual, good job....and I want more!
  8. It must be a girls camp song. I never heard it in all my years of camping as a scout or as a parent of a scout.....

Addiction, withdrawal...dependence, all displayed in gritty detail. It's not pretty, nor pleasant but it is true. The idea of having to hit bottom before you can start over is crap. Too many die before they realize they passed the bottom. Too many suicide with an overdose because they can't take the pain of going through another withdrawal. Addiction is a mental health problem that is totally out of control in this country. While there are some who get lucky and find their way out of the maze with some help, there are far too many that exist day to day before they too end up a statistic. Addicts are notoriously secretive and try to hide their problems and refuse to discuss them. Sorry, I have too many friends who have lost children, siblings, spouses to addiction. Some are forever heartbroken, ridden with guilt and thinking there must of have been something they should have done better. I don't know the answer, but I do know effective treatment is expensive, hard to get into and no guarantee of success. https://fee.org/articles/san-francisco-sees-more-overdose-deaths-than-covid-deaths-in-2020/
  10. The two young cadets will face much in the next two years. The Academy is intense.
  11. Three survivors so far, so I expect a fourth.
  12. ...and in a related use: Dual wield - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_wield Dual wielding, or akimbo, is the technique of using two weapons, one in each hand for training or combat. It is not a common combat practice. Although historical records of dual wielding in war are limited, there are numerous weapon-based martial arts that involve the use of a pair of weapons.

    Bound

Lee is pitiful. No self-esteem, with his only skill being able to swallow without gagging. Hopefully, he doesn't run or screw up beyond any redemption as it looks like Camp Refuge is his only shot of making anything of his life. Hope is a strong incentive and perhaps Lee will get some. At least I'm betting Wayne tries....

    Western Skies

The word picture title and the chapter were well executed and matched up perfectly. Ritch is doing everything he can to be prepared for his summer training and getting acclimated to the elevation was a brilliant idea and that he could use the family retreat in Colorado was another indication of the advantage of wealth. Having been raised as a military brat coupled with his intense desire to be a pilot makes the hardships of the military a little less onerous. Something his cousin didn't understand. As usual I want more!

    Cadet

Having 2020 in our rear view mirror is a blessing for everyone, especially those of us who suffered a personal loss. Ritch will always be Ritchie to family (even if not spoken as such out loud!) As a soon to be 18 year old hetero, I suspect the hunky Cadet will attract a significant amount of beautiful babes...

    Chapter 42

Poor George, having to perform for the Empress. But at least he was handsomely rewarded and has the accommodating Pavel to assuage his torment. More please!

    Chapter 7

Thanks for another hot installment. I had to google pics of Bondi beach surfing. This one looked awesome.
  18. I like this feature even when I'm not enamored with the particular word of the day. As @drpaladin noted, there are thousands of gems out there many surreptitiously hidden in plain sight.
  19. From my house to yours, all the best wishes that you had a meaningful Christmas with the hope of a better new year!

Somehow I think the lube will come in handy....

    Chapter 5

Tristan is slowly and uncomfortably getting there. Hopefully before Peter really does move on and find someone else. Poor TT deserves his toy and his wish too!!
