Brevity may be the soul of wit, but I fell in love with the books by Charles Dickens as a pre-teen and love a fully descriptive narrative, so I must concur with JACC. I think the story to date has fully established that the ambassador is fully competent in her job of managing her embassy. A point that seems to elude CJ's superior. The failure of the Mexican head of Amazon to get back quickly to CJ is as Ozzie said puzzling. I hope the school outreach program is not the issue that causes the disruption that has CJ and family leaving Mexico... As usual, I'm mentally salivating for more....lots more.

I watched episode 6 early this morning and I agree the series is moving along a lot faster than the books, but that was to be expected. The continuity is easier to follow without all the excruciating details of all the subterfuge and political manuvering in the White Tower. Sihuan was much more complexly portrayed and constrained by politics in the book. The other hands were barely mentioned or described. I'm still hooked and look forward to the next episode.

My wife is fixated on the Hallmark Movie Channel which is running Christmas movies full time. Ughhh!
-
I've watched all five episodes and found them visually stunning with dialogue that is less stilted than in the book. I will definitely be watching the entire series. And the guy playing Rand is eye candy. Perrin is a bear!

I think she already has a bit of CJ's fire, so that may be wishful thinking...and she's a princess in a doting male household.

Another short chapter that's a fast read and leaves me yearning for more. Next Friday is a very long way aways.

That was hot...and then not!

Perhaps, Jonathan will figure it out in the next chapter?

Sorry, but these guys need to stop and talk. And maybe really get to know each other. This choreographed dance is interesting, but I'm for real communication.

Jonathan needs to quit letting the past control him.

Jonathan Hamilton Is (Not) An Easy Lay
Daddydavek commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in Jonathan Hamilton Is (Not) An Easy Lay
MD is beginning to realize his buddies will eventually find out the cause of his distraction. The tension is still building. -
Too bad that Mad Dawg is obsessing about Jonathan just as much as the reverse. As the tension builds, I wonder how long Laura will drag out the inevitable moment of truth?
-
So they both lust for each other... Their preconceived notions about themselves may make their next interactions tense. Nice build to the story Laura.
-
JJ's own insecurities did not serve him well. MD isn't used to being so abruptly dismissed and his pride took a hit. Ray is a friendly flake!

Ok, I think I've almost gotten enough to last until Friday...although Tuesday would be better! Calum is a nice addition to the story and more Aussie eye candy never hurts. Perhaps a picture in the discussion forum? Thanks Carlos for sharing your gift for storytelling.

I could get used to this! The ambassador is no dummy and handled the situation with a deft touch. Linc is a bonus and a friend. CJ's family appears to have lucked out with childcare who cooks and does some cleaning. Ozzie's Austalian contacts are coming through as well. As I said before, the young, successful power couple are making a splash! Thanks again for sharing!

The young power couple made a splash and CJ is worried about the blowback, and rightly so. I'm still relieved he works for Blinken and not Pompeo...

I definitely will. Great start and you just added to my Happy Thanksgiving!

I too am thankful for GA and the outstanding people who make this site a destination I try to visit every day. It's been a tough year with the pandemic, my wife's medical problems, our 15 year old beagle's rapid decline this fall and his death at the end of October. I know he is in a better place. I am especially thankful for my family and my grandchildren who continue to bring us boundless joy, happiness and laughter! We got to see them today and it is always so heartwarming to bask in their love and for them to feel ours as well.

The first 3 episodes went up on Prime on November 19. The photography is superb. The books are very long and filled with confusing details from different points of view. The series is trying to show the complexity and at the same time trying to avoid some of the confusion. The story talks about a confusing time with many different points of view. I found the story more accessible so far and the strory does follow the gist of the story as I remember it. Of course I read the first book about 30 years ago....and several of the others over the intervening years. I have not read the ones done after Jordan's death.

I won't be updating to Windows 11 until I replace my desktop and laptop. I expect I'll get a few more years out of both. I never upgraded from Windows 7 until Windows 10 was out for several months. I skipped Windows 8.

Poor George and his raging libido. Suddenly cut off to rejoin the fleet on the way home. Oh right, he's already bedded a significant number of the fleet members. Knowing Mark....I meant George, he'll make a new conquest on the way home. Another lovely chapter. Especially liked the swagger at the end.

Thanks for the Unconventional Gift of your story! The pendant sounds awesome and the story behind it was too!
