I must say, I’ve been wondering what happened to the pendant. Even more so, why Victor hasn’t said anything about it. The description made it seem like it would have been difficult to miss, and with his 200+ years of experience in the supernatural world, I would imagine he would recognize something unusual about it.

I second @Brayon’s comments , @Renee Stevens: I, too, am rather shocked and disappointed that you’ve had to deal with so many petty complaints that you would consider quitting what I’ve always seen as excellent work. Then again, as one of my mentors used to say, “Computer systems work fine... until you add users.” (Ok, perhaps not the best analogy, but people often manage to gum up the best plans.) So, kudos to you for your hard work organizing and managing the Anthologies. I’m not a creative writer, but I will promise to do a better job reading, liking, and commenting on the stories published in each anthology. Write On! -

Not only does Nisa feel scorned, as @Buz and @FanLit have observed, but the empress feels scorned as well. With the two feeling similarly and seeing that they have a common enemy, they are going to try some bad juju. My hope is that her (their?) demise will strengthen bonds between Jihan and the people of Silver Shore. At least the Manor’s extended family is beginning to care for Jihan. I loved Kastan’s observation to Temu that they knew how to make war, but Jihan is a logistics and business genius. One other tidbit: I was so delighted to see is that Kastan and Jihan finally spoke about Jian. I sincerely hope Jihan really believed Kastan and took it to heart.

This chapter was devastating but also seeded with hope. We all have reasons for our choices, and rarely is the same answer the best one for everyone. More often than not, our choices are neither completely wrong nor absolutely right. Life is about moving forward and knowing that today you can make choices enlightened by the past that make tomorrow better. Of course, it helps to have a Penn in your life. Thanks, @Mrsgnomie, for touching us with the lives of your characters! -

I’m guessing that it is the desire to stay out of the limelight. Often, people who are abused will go to great lengths to avoid any attention.

So sorry I missed this story when it came out — almost a decade ago. On the other hand, I don’t have to wonder when the next chapter will be out. 😝 I debated about marking it as “Love,” but I ended up with “Sad“ because F’rian appears to have been abused and probably raped. I sincerely hope that J’day will be able to get through to him.

How sad that Owen didn’t have Mica when he needed someone. (When did Mica recognize Owen was his Mate? If I missed it, let me know; otherwise, I hope we learn.) I’m glad they have each other now... but I am looking for a little comeuppance for Owen’s tormentors and their accomplices. -
Is the changed form just showing Chasen that he’s mentally and spiritually whole? I think Chasen has grown tremendously, and I have no doubt that now he and Londe could survive if his physical form is still a human. Of course, I’m crossing my fingers for his physical form to be back, too.

Like @NoSkis, I am in awe at how 1,005 words can impact me. My heart was racing like crazy when I finished, so much so that I had to pause before I could think clearly enough to write something. Of course, those minutes of pause allowed me to realize I neglected to note the cliffhanger. Impressive as all get out, @Cia

Yes, but without the note, the master-disc’s message would have been ambiguous. Together, they expressed more precisely and profoundly what either could do alone. Now, for the next set of words & signs that can solidify their relationship.
