May of Miracles - Stories

It’s the early 1950’s in Australia and Ryan Seaton has a dark secret. At twelve years old he’s discovered he’s a homosexual and in that decade being gay could be fatal. Added to that, his mother uses emotional blackmail, making his home-life miserable. Then his best mate confides he’s also gay, but the combined hostility of society, religion and the law, ensures that any relief is short-lived. Tragedy follows.

The decade known as the 1950’s was word-wide, the worst time to be gay, but out of the depths of despair a new period of enlightenment began. This is the story of some young souls living through and surmounting that awful decade.

A vampire story of a different kind.

I wrote this one several years ago to a prompt on another site, and I had to tweak it to make it more presentable for GA. Still not sure I'm there yet!

When Danny's best friend Jason opens up to him about the secret feelings he's been harboring, Danny doesn't know what else to do but to lend his support. But he soon realizes that sometimes being honest is more important than being supportive.

College freshman Huey McKee is unlucky in love and saddled with a bitter past he's strugged to bury. This story centers around The Hollow Hills - a horse farm in Vermont - and Galen and Joshua. Galen moves to New England after breaking up with his boyfriend and meets Josh. Their relationship is anything but easy, with many obstacles standing in their way. When tragedy strikes, they need to learn how to redefine their lives and live with the after-effects.

One last journey to the outskirts of nowhere.

Young Benji is going to finally have the house to himself during a day off from school. With his mom and dad going to work, and his baby sister spending the day with friends...he's free to get into whatever mischief that he wants to pursue. What will he do with his much needed time alone?

This story was written as an addition to the Sanitaria Springs series of stories. Those are stories written by Dabeagle and other authors who he invited to contribute. They are about events in the lives of several teen boys who live in the fictional town of Sanitaria Springs in New York State. The stories are interwoven and this particular story picks up on a character first met in a story titled 'Without A Trace.'

I do not think it is essential to read that story before reading this tale as I believe there is sufficient 'back story' here to enable this one to stand alone, but feel free to do so.
