This is one of those stories I wrote due to a discussion I watched between Renee and Lugh. They were talking about borrowing her vampire and getting him to listen. Considering I had read her story and thought the vampire being discussed was sort of heroic I thought what would happen if a vampire was the hero? Okay so my mind works strangely. This is the result.

“SHIT! How am I going to get out of this? How in hell did this happen? Oh God he’s getting nearer!” panicked thoughts flew through Jason Barnette’s mind as he ran for what he felt was his life. His feet pounding the concrete paving beneath him, he felt no tiredness, no pain, void of all feeling except the white-hot sickness that creeps through your body causing your veins to turn icy in fear. New bartender, Lane Hardy, has come to work at The Rainbow Beret, a gay bar outside of Denver. Regular customer Brendan McCoy is immediately attracted to his odd nature and appearance. Upon being called onto the scene of Vanessa Stanton's death, he encounters the enigmatic Lane Hardy, who has been suspected for Vanessa's murder. As the disorientation grows Carlos finds himself delving into a nightmare-mystery of secrets and suppressed memories.

For the past decade Nora has done her best to keep Lane safe by keeping her secrets. Now, she realizes, the time has come for Lane to know the truth. Feeling a desperate need to attone, she travels to Adermoor Cove to reconcile with her son.

The people of Adermoor Cove vibrate with excitement in preparation for Oktoberfest. Carlos is now the sheriff of the town. Moira has gone back to teaching, when she is attacked. Lane Hardy and his friends must decide Ramona's fate once and for all. Can they save her or must they destroy her?
