Cards on the Table

Kendall, at 25, puts all his cards on the table and walks away from his best friend, Michael. Being a cop hasn't prepared Michael for the hit he takes. Is there a way back for these two?

This is a story about love and the convoluted ways it sometimes takes to get there. It is also about commitment, friendship and trust, in yourself and in others. This is my first story attempt ever.  It is like plunging into ice cold water and finding out whether you have what it takes to swim to the other side before you sink....kind of like the way love sometimes works. Wish me luck. I will try not to waste your time.

I want to point out that that ‘you’ I mentioned earlier is generic and plural. I do not mean to suggest that anyone might be interested in the practice, might be interested in prostitution either as seller or purchaser, or might otherwise find this topic fascinating.

At some point I would like to edit the whole story, and apply all the things I have learned in my writing journey. I'm very proud of Cards on the Table, but there are writing flaws that can make me cringe, so yeah, I do find time here and there to fix some of the more obvious ones. I am very careful not to change the feel, though. That's most important to me :) Thanks for noticing, drought... cheers... Gary....

So far, G-Man hasn't written one word that I don't like, though I have pointed out once or twice where he used a wrong name... :)

With that said, I don't always go back and read things a second time once I've reviewed them--not because they aren't worth it, but because within a paragraph or two I remember all that went on, and there's no surprise left.  Despite that, I do read some of them again because Gary puts so much stuff in them I need to make sure I get it all before reviewing. 

I'm holding out for another 'Morningstar' book, but I'll devour anything G-Man serves up.  :)

Yup... you've caught and saved me a few times lol. You're the best, CG. You've been there from the beginning, and I've learned a lot from working with you. You put everything you have into your writing too, and your big heart shines through Jay and Miles like a beacon :heart: Another Morningstar book? I can't even think about it until I'm done with this one... well... I do think about it, and scenes keep arriving, but I push them aside. Hold your enthusiasm, that feeling vanishes when you find out that the story has been on hold for more than a year. Dang!

Sorry. I know it's frustrating, but I have had some setbacks, health issues, and now renovations... still, I have written a lot in that time span. Morningstar: The Malaise and Exes and Ohs for examples. :)  I have every intention of picking the story up again,  and I left them in a very good place in the meanwhile. Thanks for hanging in there... cheers... Gary...

Sorry, Nahrung. All I can say is I know I've let readers down. I'm having surgery in June to reattach two tendons in my right shoulder, and I won't commit to anything, but I still plan to wrap this story up at some point. I never should have left to write anything else until CotT was finished, but it is a lesson well learned. Thanks for caring about this story... it still lives in my head somewhere.

:blink: But...but if you hadn't, we wouldn't have had Morningstar or Finding Refuge or all your other wonderful stories. Even though we miss the CotT story, the long hiatus didn't happen because you stopped writing altogether. Don't feel guilty, you'll get back to them sooner or later. :hug:
