The Reluctant Master - 12. Chapter 12
Dixon
From Dixon: i deserve a beating this afternoon.
From Alan: From your description, you’re usually in charge. This isn’t your normal route. What did you do to deserve a beating?
From Dixon: i was raised on them. i need a harsh beating from time to time. i missed a deadline at work. the line needs to be drawn. today.
From Alan: Missing deadlines at work opens you to consequences. And it might be fun to see how a man as strong as you are faces them. But you need someone stronger than you are to give you that beating, and I can’t match you physically.
From Dixon: a strong man submitting to a strict man of character is all it takes. with the right paddle in your hand, it doesn’t take a truck driver to drive home the point.
From Alan: Maybe. But I used to play basketball. I was never a lifter. My strength was always in my legs. And the few times I’ve paddled guys, they’ve always been disappointed. No resounding thwack, and their asses don’t turn red.
From Dixon: then i’ll look for someone stronger.
From Alan: That would make us both happier.
