My Dumb Ass Of The Year Award

Given the actual existence of Kanye West, it is difficult for anyone to be a bigger dumb ass but this summer, some one has risen to the challenge.

My dumb ass of the year: county clerk of Rowan County, KY Kim Davis.

This attractiveness challenged individual has been divorced 4 times. She has taken it upon herself to stand tall for the sanctity of marriage by refusing to give gay couple marriage licenses.

Only the most incredibly tone deaf, insensitive idiots would fail to see the dumb-assery in that act.

It is for this sublime act of dumb-assery, I do hereby proclaim Kim Davis, Dumb Ass of the year 2015.

Congratulations, you are one of the biggest dumb asses I've EVER SEEN.

I  when I found out she is a divorcee, what a hypocrite.

PS: There are four more months of 2015... but no one can outrank her for the year, she deserves the title.

To Kim Davis:

I get a kick out of seeing that she started a gofundme campaign, and they cancelled it lol. She's a real piece.

Yes.. to be stubborn to the point of idiocy warrants some sort of award. I dislike that she is getting so much praise. Those people can also have honorable mention. They refuse to see that her 3 divorces were a sin - that she somehow asked for forgiveness for those and found God within the fourth marriage. Which, fine - I can deal with that. What I don't understand is how they seem to forget all the passages of love and acceptance and the, "Thou shall not judge," command - as to disobey any of those are sins as well.

Kentucky.. I love the place despite most of the people that call it home. If I can somehow ship them up north I would. :D

I cannot understand how she can refuse to follow the law and perform the duties of her office. She was voted in; she should be voted out.

But it is Kentucky.

When asked who gave here the authority to refuse the licenses, she calmly stated God's authority does.

Add in the fact her husband has stated that he is a good ole Southern boy who strongly believes in the second amendment, I can't help to feel this might end ugly.

BTW, where is Kentucky's Governor in all this? They shall discuss in 2 months when they sit again. Spineless himself I say.

Don't expect any state politicians to step up. In a state like Kentucky, that would be political suicide to side with the godless commies and homosexuals. I swear that in some parts of the south, it's still the fifties.

The Governor cannot be re-elected though, he is at the end of his eligibility. So he 'could' if he wanted to. Although, it may end badly for the democrat that is running to replace him, although I plan on voting for him over the republican, who I distrust a ton more. The Democrat running dodged the gay marriage issue when he was Attorney General though, said he would leave it to the higher courts in Kentucky... and they of course stalled out until SCOTUS got involved.

The Gov. has already told them to start issuing marriage licenses though, you can't make someone do anything they just won't do... we'll see if she folds when they start fining her.

i can't help but feel that the enlightened people like James and Krista make up the majority of the 'South'. Just unfortunately they also have the minority dumbasses who grab the national and international spotlight every now and then.

After all, Mississippi legalized gay marriage before being told to by SCOTUS.

Think of the South like a big city- there are some neighborhoods you wouldn't want to visit.

Places like Memphis, Austin and Savannah are the nice neighborhoods- but even they have their bad spots.

The true south is beautiful. Where family is first, generosity and humbleness is in most everyone. This woman, although from Kentucky and has a lot of idiots supporting her, does not represent me and my south. She doesn't represent the south for a lot of us that live in these regions. Going beyond that, she doesn't even represent true Christians as I am a Christian as well.

I wish we could kick her out of both groups as she is running the south and what it takes to be a real christian into the dirt. :P

Let's get back to sweet tea and SEC football soon and this woman's grandstanding will be forgotten. :D

I saw an article recently to say there was a pending decision for holding her in contempt of court. With possible jail time.

All i can say is, "please throw the key away, or eat it, or just conveniently lose it." ;) no place needs bigots like her.

ps, like the trophy James :)

In my country (The Netherlands) same sex marriages are possible since 2001, but we still have many "dumb asses" here who are allowed to refuse to perform the ceremony on "moral" or "religious" grounds.

We even have a word for it: weigerambtenaar (refusing civil servant).

It is beyond my comprehension that a government allows civil servants, who are payed by the taxpayer's money, to refuse the performance of a duty that is part of their job.

I have a lot more candidates for your award, James !
