I've just been catching up with the Ask an Author series myself, and to be honest... I quite like it as is :3 So I'm not the best help in that department.

What is your favorite story/collection on Gay Authors?

CJ by Carlos Hazday and Hybrid Journey by Kbois.

I have plenty more that are close to favorite.

What is your favorite food?

Pepporini and Mushroom Pizza and a can of Cider.

If you could accomplish one thing for 2024, what would it be?

World Peace (no war anywhere).

As for Ask an Author I like it as it is, but I do like the idea of a set of questions set by you. But you would half a dozen, so an author wouldn't know which three they were likely to get in advance.

      The CAP and Bridgemont series are my favorite; although I could list a dozen or so that are close behind.

• What is your favorite food?

     Mexican are more specifically Tex-Mex, Fajitas...

• If you could accomplish one thing for 2024, what would it be?

     Spend more time with friends.

I enjoy the ask an author, and think it is well done.  Not sure how I would change it.

First of all, AAA is a really good idea! Thank you for doing it!

Concerning the future format of it, I just find that the interviews are not comparable. I would suggest asking a standard set of questions about three topics, something like:

1. Their writing:

1a. How did you get to it?

1b. What did you do to learn it/improve skill?

1c. What do you consider your writing strength/weaknesses?

1d.What would be your advice for beginners?

2. Them and GA:

2a. How did you find GA and why did you join?

2b. What were your expectations and were they met?

2c. Suggestions/Comments?

2d. What is you relationship to feedback/How do you want it?

2e. What do you like reading/what would you never read?

3. The person themself:

3a. How would a good friend describe you as a person?

3b. What do you like/dislike? (e.g. food)

3c. What do you do when you do not write (i.e. work/hobbies)?

And then a set of questions that the member suggested when they suggested the author to interview, unless covered by the above. Unless, the author selection process is automated according to certain criteria like number of stories greater than 3, must have ad recommendations etc.

As for the questions:

2. What is your favorite food? Indian.
3. If you could accomplish one thing for 2024, what would it be? Loose weight.

1.  Mark Arbour series. Hard to choose but for sheer historical authenticity, then Bridgemont.  
2.  Valencian “arroz al horno”.  
3. part one: get through and survive last six months until I retire, neatly enough, on 30 June.  Part two, post July 1, get my life and health back and getting two mini weinerdogs to make a certain member here jealous!
