It'd better die

I.

No one has a right to a broken heart,

They'll try and tell us,
Cuz this age of Internet and A.I.
Only loves a wedge.

A heart that feels, right about now's, not smart,
And ain't tough enough
To force a way through when it'd better die
Than admit it cares.

II.

One word of truth,

That’s too much to ask –

The Internet Persona

Will’s out and wears its mask.

Words of kindness

From a glowing screen –

Electric blood from a beet

Could the quicker be seen.

For Virtual’s

No life at all –

Just smoke, mirrors and fakery

To make real hearts feel small.

III.

Take care what electric hand may reach out,

For those Internet bogey-folks like to parade

Their false sob stories, to wretch and to tout

Trials unearned, while every truth skillfully evade.

So take care what hand you may offer them

In return for lies falling like quarry stone scree

As if sh*t in a house of mirrors turned gem,

Showing you but the things they thought you’d like to see.

I debated between a "wow" reaction and a "sad" reaction on this.  Much feeling is in the above.

The amount of feeling in such an economy of words is expressively amazing!
