Wow! Did you notice the title? Instead of story, it is stories this month :o Timothy did two great reviews from Carlos this month. Although Timothy will most likely blatantly deny it, I'm sure this is my birthday present since it is coming up :gikkle: Enjoy!

Writing a blog review, which features on 9/11, would tempt me to review Mark Arbor’s CAP story 9/11. But I already did that back in 2017. Instead, I would like to pay tribute to Carlos Hazday, who passed away in June 2023, by reviewing a Premium story with several of his favorite parts: hunky men, awesome tattoos, heroes in service, and a love of the sea, as well as another story, which is assessible to all readers.

In the story Inked we meet Banner Hoyt, who is a Coast Guard in Alaska. His colleagues and mates are what all gay men would want in their straight friends. Cool and secure in their own masculinity, they may tease Banner and his friend Marc, a former coastie, about getting laid (or not), but when it counts, they have their backs. I particularly liked this opinion expressed by Banner (and Carlos):

“He claimed the day more men felt secure enough in their sexuality would herald the end of homophobia.”

It is a story without epic drama, just a group of friends dealing with the situations they face, whether it be during rescues or while having a beer. They are calm, intelligent, and determined, just the kind of people I like. Give the story a try, and tell me what you think of Banner’s decision at the end, and whether you also wish Carlos was here to write another Banner story.

Beach Bottles
by Carlos Hazday

This story continues the theme of love of the sea, as well as caring for the environment. There are four short stories collected in a series called Earth Day Stories, and Beach Bottles is the second. Liebe is a little girl whose two fathers give her lots of love - and I bet her name (German for Love) is quite deliberate, They also bring her up to enjoy the sea which is practically outside heir front door. One of them is a fire fighter, so we also have the protect and serve theme covered. And although the text doesn't say so, I'm sure both guys are hunky, too. :P  This story is for everyone, who would like to have fond smiles on their faces, as we indulge in the dream of a world where families with two fathers are normal and accepted, and love is love. I know Carlos worked hard to promote such rights and equality.

You're welcome to consider it your birthday present - and I won't even tease you about the spelling mistake in the blog title.
